‘Hiring Our Heroes’ job fair will be July 26 at COD

2012 Hiring Our Heroes will be held from 9AM-2PM, Thurs., July 26, at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

Before the job fair, a Pre-Job Fair Workshop  will take place 9:30AM–12:30PM, July 9, or 1PM–4PM, July 10, in the COD Student Service Center Room 3260 (Veteran’s Lounge).

“I know the job fair isn’t until July, but we’re trying to reach all the job seekers,” said Naperville Township Veterans Community Relations coordinator Mike Barbour.

Barbour is hopeful everyone will help spread the word throughout the community to business owners, veterans and veterans’ families who could benefit from one or both of these free events.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is collaborating with College of DuPage and workNet DuPage on pre-job fair workshops that will assist Veterans, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses focus on their job search and prepare a professional resume.

The workshops are FREE for registrants to help prepare a resume and professional interviewing and skills. Registration is limited, be sure to register at your earliest convenience and no later than Thursday, July 5.

For registration and further information  contact College of DuPage Career Services SSC 3258, at (630) 942-2231.

The 2012 Hiring Our Heroes  employment fair in Glen Ellyn that follows the Pre-Job Fair Workshop also  is free for employers and job seekers.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Illinois Department of Employment Security to host a one-of-a kind free employment fair for Veterans, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses at COD.
