moe. has been booked to close out Ribfest.
The Exchange Club of Naperville and the 2012 Ribfest Committee announced today the group’s appearance on the Navistar stage July 3.
The 25th Ribfest will be held June 29-July 3 in Knoch Park, Naperville. Ribfest consists of family activities throughout the event, 16 rib vendors from across the country and music. Over the past 25 years, $12M has been donated from Ribfest proceeds to over 50 local agencies who are working for the elimination of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence.
moe. is the preeminent progressive rock band on the music scene today. With 20 years of touring and just as many albums under its belt, the quintet of Al Schnier and Chuck Garvey on guitars and vocals, Rob Derhak on bass and vocals, Jim Loughlin on percussion and vibes, and Vinnie Amico on Drums, continues to push the standard for performance art.
Critical acclaim and a solid national and international fan base have built a dedicated following for moe. that grows each year. Their resume includes touring across the globe, headlining music festivals, and sharing the stage with such celebrated acts such as the Allmans, The Who, or Robert Plant, among others. Yet Moe. has kept its place at the forefront of the music scene with its individual energy and vitality of music and songwriting as well as their showmanship and delivery.
“This Ribfest certainly has something for every music lover, in addition to the great Ribs. We are looking forward to having moe. join the other outstanding acts we have lined up for this year’s Ribfest” stated Mark Wright, 2012 Ribfest Chair.
Tickets for all Ribfest entertainment are available on the Ribfest website and will be date specific.
Also the spectacular fireworks display will be held at dusk on Tues., July 3, at the conclusion of the 5-day event.
“In addition to the great lineup of concerts at Ribfest,” said spokeswoman Julie Lichter, “We’re trying to get the word out about the fireworks on July 3 this year.”
Everything else about the timing for the fireworks display in Knoch Park is the same except the date, she said.
