New production of ‘Godspell’ will open June 1

‘Godspell’ is now in rehearsals and set for Center State Theater

Hope United Church of Christ will present its production of  “Godspell,” a musical based on the gospel of Saint Matthew. Rehearsals are now in progress for performances slated at 8PM Fri., June 1; 4PM and 8PM Sat., June 2; and 1:30PM Sun., June 3, at Center Stage Theater.

The musical was conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak and Stephen Schwartz wrote the music and new lyrics.

The local production is directed by Keith M. Cornell with musical direction by John Apple and Mark Duebner.

The cast includes  Anna Marie Ahonen, Alex Buda, Kelley Buesse, Anthony Berg, Mark Geiger, Andrea Gough, Jay Hruska, Jill Izzo, Whitney McCall, Trish Micus, LaRissa O’Neal, Danielle Rothe and Timoth Sylvia.

Tickets are $20 for Adults and $15 for Seniors/Children (12 and under).

Center Stage Theater is located at 1665 Quincy Ave., just west of Ogden Ave.
