NAHS Celebrates Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month

-

The Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) has joined the ASPCA in observing national Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat month with their “Certified, Pre-Owned Cats”  program and the NAHS will be significantly reducing the adoption fee on all cats and kittens.

“Approximately 4 million cats end up in shelters each year, including thousands born in the spring and summer during kitten season,” said Angie Wood, executive director of the Naperville Area Humane Society.  Wood went on to say, “The Certified Pre-Owned Cats program was designed to utilize humor in bringing awareness to an otherwise serious issue by capitalizing on the famous used car concept of ‘better than new’.

“NAHS has many adult cats and kittens of all ages and personalities, from the young and frisky to the mature and mellow. Now is the perfect time to help us find forever homes for homeless cats. Adopting now will create space for those cats still needing to come into our shelter.”

NAHS’ Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat promotion begins June 1 and runs through June 30. During that time, the adoption fee for adult cats, age 6 months and older, is $25 and the fee for kittens, age 5 months and younger, is $100. All cats are up-to-date on vaccinations and are FeLV negative. The cats are also spayed or neutered and micro-chipped.  For more adoption information, visit www.NapervilleAreaHumaneSociety.org.
