First Community Bank – Naperville has announced its plans to move to a new location at Naperville Plaza. The plans to renovate an existing retail space in Naperville Plaza were approved by Naperville City Council at a meeting on May 15.
First Community Bank is renovating a storefront that has a history of banking. The location was home to Washington Bank & Trust in the 1970’s, founded by a group of local businessmen including Dick Wehrli. The group got together to form a community bank – they invested their own money and the funds were loaned out to local businesses. Wehrli’s son, Scott Wehrli, holds a similar role on the Advisory Board at First Community Bank – Naperville.
“Naperville Plaza is the perfect location for First Community Bank – Naperville. Like First Community Bank, the focus of this plaza is Naperville businesses. This is where our customers shop, these are the people we believe we serve best,” said Scott Wehrli, a member of the Board of Directors. “Adding a bank to this shopping center will make it a one-stop destination for Naperville residents.”
“Like local businesses, banking is about relationships. First Community Bank – Naperville is a place where people will recognize you, know your name and understand your concerns,” Wehrli continued.
They will be updating and upgrading the retail space and adding a drive through lane around the building.
“We are excited to become part of the vibrant local business center at Naperville Plaza and plan to start renovating the space as soon as possible. We hope to have the space operational by late fall,” said Pat Benton, Market President at First Community Bank.
First Community Bank is a Naperville bank in every sense of the word; the board of directors is made up of local businesspeople who have each personally invested in the bank. The focus of the bank is growing the local economy, with a professional banking team overseeing the loaning of local money to Naperville area businesses. FDIC insured, First Community Bank is a branch of First Community Bank of Joliet.
The bank will be moving from its temporary location at 2728 W. 75th Street. For more information visit www.FCBNaperville.com.
