Nine bands to compete at free event in Central Park
The Naperville Park District Youth Ambassadors will host the 2012 Battle of the Bands, a free event featuring nine of the community’s top high school student rock bands. The public is invited to hear the variety of music created by our talented students and cheer on their favorite bands.
The music begins at 4:30PM and will conclude at approximately 8:30PM this Friday. The event will be held at the Community Concert Center at Central Park, located at 104 E. Benton Ave in downtown Naperville.
The lineup is:
4:50 – 5:05 The Oz Factor – Naperville North High School
5:10 – 5:25 Coffeehouse Tipsters – Neuqua Valley High School
5:30 – 5:45 Food and Fire – Neuqua Valley High School
5:50 – 6:05 This Week’s Trend – Neuqua Valley High School
6:15 – 6:30 Little Resistance – Naperville North High School
6:35 – 6:50 Ocean Glass – Naperville Central High School
6:55 – 7:10 The New Epidemic – Neuqua Valley High School
7:15 – 7:30 Dead Yet Alive – Naperville North High School
7:35 – 7:50 Broken Tension – Naperville North High School
Performances will be followed by the awarding of the top honors. The first place winner will perform at Ribfest at a time to be determined and will advance to the Illinois Park District Association’s Regional Battle of the Bands with a chance to perform at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield. The second and third place finishers will play at the Naperville Park District’s Rollin’ on the River series on the Riverwalk on Friday, July 8.
