Naperville painter Bob Jung has decided to focus a portion of his business on philanthropy, achieving great results while also giving back to the local charities. And, he wants to give away 24 Painters for a Day in 2012.
Jung’s goal for 2012 is to give away 24 Painters for a Day as well as adopt one charity to call his own. Jung is currently working on partnering with Rebuilding Together Aurora, which provides home repair assistance for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
A painter since he was 15-years-old, Jung has many clients, both residential and commercial, including Sullivan’s Steakhouse and the City of Naperville Police and Fire Departments. He was inspired to create this program after working with Extra Edge to coordinate a fundraiser for Hesed House last year.
“When I saw how wonderful the event was, I wanted to do more,” Jung said.
Within the past few years, Jung has provided A Painter for a Day to the DuPage Children’s Museum, St. Patrick’s Residence and Family Counseling Services. Most recently he partnered with Lellbach Builders, Roseland Draperies and Russell Martin Carpet & Rugs, in which he provided 90 hours of his own labor to complete a makeover for Bridge Communities. The organization was in need of a condominium renovation for a homeless mother of two who is working two jobs and going back to school.
“What goes around comes around. I thought it would be a nice gesture to give back to these charities.”
With a degree in business from Governors State University, and after having worked as a painter throughout high school and college and then being employed full-time for 14 years as a painter, Jung opened Naperville-based Bob Jung Painting and Decorating in 2004. The business specializes in residential, commercial, property maintenance, insurance restoration, exterior and interior, wallpaper, faux finishing, and deck painting and staining. Jung currently has five employees and was awarded with the Naperville Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year Award in 2008.
