Tee times are set for Edward Foundation Golf Outing on July 16
Every May, the local charity golf season has a habit of starting with the St. Patrick’s Residence Golf Outing at Stonebridge Country Club on the third Monday in May. The date often is shared with other outings as plenty of local golfers fill foursomes that day and all the way through October, benefiting a variety of charitable causes, all while networking, fundraising and enjoying the great outdoors.
Morning and afternoon foursomes and individual slots are still available, as are sponsorship and donation opportunities for the annual Edward Foundation Golf Outing to be held on Monday, July 16 at Cress Creek Country Club, 1215 Royal St. George Dr. in Naperville. The Foundation is the charitable fundraising arm of Edward Hospital & Health Services.
Eddie Olczyk, pictured at right, former NHL player and coach, and now television analyst for the Chicago Blackhawks and NBC Sports, will be the celebrity guest of the outing, which raised a record $200,000 last year.
The morning session begins with registration and breakfast at 7AM, followed by a shotgun start at 8AM. The afternoon session tees off at 1PM. A cocktail party, dinner, awards, raffle and a live auction will follow the tournament. To register, visit www.golfinvite.com/edward.
The Edward Foundation recently donated $2.5 million to Edward programs and services, including $500,000 to fund access to care for the uninsured and working poor, $1 million toward the upgrade of an existing Cardiovascular Operating Room to a Hybrid Operating Room and $1 million to help pay for the construction of three one-story additions to existing inpatient wings at Linden Oaks at Edward.
The Foundation has raised $26.5 million since 1990 in its mission to support Edward’s community healthcare initiatives, including free services and health and wellness programs; centers of excellence like Edward Heart Hospital and Edward Cancer Center, and programs that make Edward unique, like the Ronald McDonald Family Room.
