Dupage Children’s Museum announces new Board member

-

The DuPage Children’s Museum’s Board of Directors recently elected Jenée Straub to serve on its Board.

Straub is a Senior Associate Attorney focusing on construction law with Ice Miller LLP in Lisle and has been practicing law with the company since 2007. She has practiced law since 1999, when she graduated from law school at Northern Illinois University.

Additionally, Jenée is an active member of the Forum on the Construction Industry (American Bar Association), American Inns of Court, DuPage County Chapter and the National Association of Women in Construction.

She resides in Riverside with her husband and their two children, who like to visit the Museum on a regular basis.

“As a mother of two children, ages 2 ½ and 9 months, I believe parents and caregivers play a critical role in early childhood education,” said Straub. “I look forward to working with the Museum and the other Board members to support a resource that is vital for early learning in our community.”

The Museum’s Board and staff developed a strategic plan for 2011-2015, which will guide the Museum’s future efforts to support early learning.

“We look forward to Jenée’s contributions and efforts to help the Museum implement the strategic plan and provide critical learning experiences for all children regardless of whatever physical, developmental or financial barriers they face,” said Ron Dietz, chairman of the Board of Directors.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
