Naperville eye doctor will walk for MS this Sunday

-

ILD Walk MS 2012 steps off Sunday on Chicago Lakefront

On Sunday, May 6, Dr. Alan Smith of English Rows Eye Care will join more than 14,000 walkers and volunteers across Illinois in Walk MS 2012 in Chicago. He will be showing support by fundraising for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the 20,000 Illinois families touched by multiple sclerosis. The money raised at Walk MS supports programs, services and vital research into the cause and cure of MS.

Often the first signs of the disease occur in the eyes, with symptoms like blurred vision or vision loss, which usually affects one eye at a time. Dr. Smith is committed to helping find a cure for this disease and is excited to be a sponsor for one of his patients, Dave Sackett, who was diagnosed with MS in August of 2010.

To support and donate to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society

By mail, write a check and mail it to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 525 West Monroe St., Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60661. Simply note “Dr. Smith” and phone number in the memo portion of the check so that your donation will count toward his fundraising goal of $1,000, an amount he will match dollar-for-dollar.

Donations are being accepted via  “Team DaveBob” through the link below. English Rows Eye Care will also match all donations dollar-for-dollar for this important cause. To donate visit http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Walk/ILDWalkEvents?px=10752775&pg=personal&fr_id=17987.
