For more than a decade, volunteers have been showing up every spring, now on the third Saturday in April, to help ready the Naperville Riverwalk for the upcoming seasons.
Typically families, garden clubs, scout groups, church organizations and individuals arrive to work a shift, lending a hand to spread mulch or pick up litter along the city’s natural treasure.
Enjoy the photos from the 2012 Riverwalk Spring Spruce Up, organized by the Naperville Park District in conjunction with members of the Riverwalk Commission and the Riverwalk Foundation.
To the right, local Girl Scouts arrived after their soccer game to pick up trash and mulch the area around the Park District Administration Building. Thanks, Girl Scouts!
Also, Jeff Havel and Chuck Papanos, both with longtime associations with the Riverwalk, were stationed to help by the Dandelion Fountain.
