Audition on May 18 for this summer’s Vocal Jazz Camp, June 11-July 18
Step out on the town… and strike up a song for an opportunity to perform with The Pete Ellman Big Band at Mullen’s Pub this summer.
With guest artists Sandi Haynes, pictured here, Pete Ellman and the School of Performing Arts’ own Ross Berkley, music campers will have an opportunity to perform with The Pete Ellman Big Band.
“The Vocal Jazz Camp is for ages 14 – 21 and advanced vocalists, please,” said band leader Pete Ellman of Ellman’s Music Center.
The Vocal Jazz Camp will be held June 11 – July 19, complete with private coachings and Master Classes in jazz vocal styles.
The cost for the Vocal Jazz Camp is $285 per camper.
AUDITIONS! Auditions for vocalists will be held 5-7PM on Friday, May 18 at Ellman’s Music Center, 508 W 5th Avenue, in Naperville.
Call The School of Performing Arts at (630) 717-6622 to schedule your audition appointment. Please come prepared to perform with a favorite Jazz Style Standard, you may provide recorded accompaniment, accompanist will also be provided.
PRIVATE COACHINGS & MASTER CLASS STYLE REHEARSALS! Private Coaching and rehearsals will take place at The School of Performing Arts from June 11 – July 19.
Each vocalist will receive at least 3 Private Coachings with his/her selection(s), along with learning in a Master Class setting throughout the summer, along with a professionally engineered reference recording for rehearsal purposes. Coachings & Master Classes will take place on Tuesday or Thursday evenings, in addition to working around each performer’s schedule.
“This new camp will be a great opportunity for young vocalists to perform with professional musicians,” said Ellman.
FINAL PERFORMANCE! Voice Camp will end with a final performance at Mullen’s Pub on the evening of Tuesday, July 17 or Thursday, July 19, 2012, giving each student an opportunity to perform in public with The Pete Ellman Big Band and receive a professional recording of the special evening.
