Players Indoor Sports Center Will Host Kids Spring Fling April 21

-

2012  Kids Spring Fling will shower families with fun activities and a chance to learn about  Loaves & Fishes and A.D.O.P.T.

It’s no secret that Naperville is a kid-friendly community. It’s also no secret that many fun family festivals come with ways to raise  funds and awareness for worthwhile causes, too.

For instance,  Players Indoor Sports Center will host the 2012 Kids Spring Fling beginning at 10AM this Sat., April 21.  In addition to games, demonstrations, fire trucks and entertainment, the family-friendly festival is quickly growing into a community event with an array of exhibitors and sponsors as a means for all ages to help others, too.  For starters, attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable donation for Loaves and Fishes Community Pantry. Located less than a mile from Players, representatives from the food pantry will be on hand to inform folks about all the services it offers to fight hunger.

While all donations are appreciated and welcome, Loaves and Fishes has a particular need for certain items. Currently, canned tuna, breakfast cereal (cold), canned fruit – all kinds, canned Spaghetti O’s, Chef Boyardi ravioli, etc. canned tomato products, peanut butter & jelly, canned chili, canned or dry protein beans, pasta sauce, baby formula (Similac Advance Complete, baby food), cereal stages 1, 2, 3, and baby food – stages 1 & 3 are on the high priority list. For other needed items, visit www.loaves-fishes.org/mostneededitems.html.

Just as Loaves and Fishes, Players considers Animals Deserving of Proper Treatment (A.D.O.P.T.) to be another good neighbor on Naperville’s west side.  Representatives from A.D.O.P.T. pet shelter also will be present on Saturday to talk about pet rescue services and how the nonprofit animal shelter connects local families with adoptable pets. Representatives will bring pets available for both play and adoption into a loving home.

The Kids Spring Fling will feature many games and activities such as inflatables, face painting, raffles, prizes, games and more for the entire family, all sponsored by area businesses.

Admission is free.  Organizers have planned a great spring day inside the spacious Players Indoor Sports Center where it’s always sunny!

Some sponsorship opportunities are still available. For information,  visit www.playersindoor.com or call (630) 470-6400.

Players Indoor Sports Center is located at 1740 Quincy, just west of Ogden Avenue and east of Fort Hill Road.
