Naperville Jaycees Will Honor 2012 DSA Recipients on April 27

-

The Naperville Jaycees asked for nominees for the 34th Annual Jaycees Distinguished Service Awards, the community responded and now the service club that hosts Last Fling has announced the recipients.

Nine awards, including the Charles “Chuck” Bueche Lifetime Achievement and the all-new “Jaycee of the Year,”  will be presented during ceremonies beginning at 6:15PM Fri., April 27 at the Chicago Marriott Naperville.

The following businesses and individuals will receive the 2012 DSA in various categories:  Business, Belgio’s Catering; Young Professional, Josh Seago; Community Leader, Liz Zienty; Public Employee, Marty Bee; Educator,  Principal Mike Raczak of  May Watts Elementary School; Student Volunteer, Kelly M. Martinez; and Not for Profit Organization,  NCTV 17 (Naperville Community Television, Channel 17).

Chuck Bueche, pictured above during the 2009 Jaycees Last Fling Labor Day Parade, will always be remembered for his jovial manner and friendly wave. Anyone who receives the Lifetime Achievement Award named to honor this charter member of the Naperville Jaycees has made major and lasting contributions to this community.

The 2012 Charles “Chuck” Bueche Lifetime Achievement will be presented to Dr. Harold R. Wilde, President of North Central College.  The photo below is Dr. Wilde pictured with Rita Harvard, back in October 2008 during the opening night festivities of The Wentz Concert Hall in the North Central College Fine Arts Center.

The top photo is the 2010 Lifetime Achievement recipient, also Rita Harvard, being bussed by Ray Kinney and Dave Kelsch.

The folks pictured in the middle photo at  right are the 2011 recipients of the DSA in various categories.  By the end of April, PN likely will post an updated photo with this year’s 2102 DSA recipients.

The Jaycee of the Year also will be announced at DSA festivities. The nominees are Brad Taylor, Karen Coleman and Jodi Bernicky.

The Jaycees accepted nominations from the public to honor exceptional community volunteers and employees who have made a difference.

A three-course dinner will be served at 7:15PM. The cost is $50 per person. The public is welcome to the celebration.

Online ticket sales end Wednesday at 5PM (at www.naperjaycees.org), though last-minute reservations will be accepted until 11AM Friday, if space is still available.

Congratulations to Dr. Hal Wilde and all recipients of the 2012 Distinguished Service Awards!

It’s quite noteworthy that so many honorees, past and present, have connections to North Central College, especially during the college’s sesquicentennial year. The Charles “Chuck” Bueche Lifeteime Achievement Award is named in honor of a 1952 graduate of North Central College.
