CityGate Grille Rutherford Hill Wine Dinner to feature winemaker Marisa Taylor Huffaker on Wed., April 25!
Taste buds will come alive with the flavor of Napa Valley at the Rutherford Hill Wine Dinner at CityGate Grille in Naperville, Ill., 6:30PM, Wed., April 25, 2012.
As guests arrive for the reception, they will enjoy sauvignon blanc with Saridinian seviche on toasted Pecorino flatbread. At dinner, the first entrée will feature a chardonnay with five spiced halibut with littleneck clam wontons, Napa cabbage and soba noodle salad and ginger-lemongrass broth; the second entrée will highlight a barrel select red blend with herb roasted angus prime ribeye with fresh morel mushrooms and RH Barrel Select reduction, spring peas, baby carrots and turnip puree; and dinner will finish with a red blend with bittersweet chocolate soufflé with espresso cream and fruit salsa.
CityGate Grille is excited to welcome the Rutherford Wine Company to Naperville. Located in Napa Valley’s Rutherford District, Rutherford Wine Company is family owned and managed. The winery and estate vineyards are 100 percent Certified Organic, and ecologically far-sighted viticulture is an ethical imperative for Rutherford Hill. Winemaker Marisa Taylor Huffaker will discuss the story of each wine throughout the dinner. Huffaker has an extensive background in artisan winemaking. She holds a B.S. Chemistry and an M.S. in Food Science-Enology from University of California Davis, and she has honed her winemaking skills in Rufina, Italy and among several distinguished wineries in California.
