Presentations offered to school parents and entire community
Due to the overwhelming response to the community forum on drugs held in February, both District 204 and District 203 have partnered with the Naperville and Aurora Police Departments to hold follow-up presentations in larger venues. Presentations will take place in the auditoriums of Naperville North High School at 7PM on Tues., April 3 and at 7PM Thurs., April 5 at Neuqua Valley High School.
Parents and the public are urged to attend with your children to hear for yourself how substance abuse affects the whole community, listen to the facts regarding what is happening in our own backyards, and most importantly, learn how to keep your children safe.
Speakers will detail the extent of heroin’s presence in our community, describe the signs and symptoms of drug addiction, and provide tips on how to seek help, offer treatment options and explain what parents can do. Presenters include Naperville and Aurora Police detectives and school social workers who will share their firsthand experiences of working with our students.
