The Fry Family YMCA will host the 3rd Annual Women’s Retreat slated for April 27-29 at Aurora University’s Conference Center in beautiful Williams Bay, WI.
“It’s our third year and the event usually attracts about 40 women,” said Judy Ellertson, Executive Director of the Fry Family YMCA & Y Sports Complex. “It’s a chance for women to recharge their batteries with lots of good programs designed just for them.”
Key note speaker Dawn Jackson-Blatner RD, CSSD, LDN, author of The Flexitarian Diet (http://dawnjacksonblatner.com) will present her insights on “Flexitarianism,” the hot new term for healthy eating that minimizes meat without excluding it. Flexitarians weigh 15 percent less; have a lower rate of heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
The Women’s Health Foundation (www.womenshealthfoundation.org) will present its Total Control Program, a comprehensive pelvic fitness and wellness program designed by leading experts in the fields of Urogynecology, physical therapy and fitness. This program is proven in medical research to promote flatter abs, give women better bladder control and help women sleep better at night.
In one session, a former police officer will present ways to avoid victimization while shopping, working out, traveling, etc. Colleen Ross has worked in law enforcement since 1993.
Styling tips and beauty secrets also will be featured in a session led by Jeff and Necole Adams of Adam J Salon. Learn the best style and haircut for the shape of your face, how to avoid common styling mistakes and make up tricks for a fresh natural look.
Two lucky women will be given makeovers that will be revealed on Saturday evening, organizers said.
