Naperville’s Robertson to Perform at Marriott Theatre

Alene Robertson will perform in The Pirates of Penzance
Naperville resident Alene Robertson will be appearing as “Ruth” in Marriott Theatre’s production of The Pirates of Penzance?  The exuberant musical theater masterpiece from the clever pens of W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan previews April 4, opens April 13 and runs through June 10 at The Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire.

Robertson has spent much of the past 20 years terrorizing little girls as “Miss Hannigan” in regional and national productions of Annie.  She toured with the 30th anniversary traveling production of the musical in 2005. In Chicago, she is a nine-time Jeff Award recipient for the roles of “Mama Morton” in Chicago The Musical, “Dolly Levi” in Hello Dolly!, “Lalume” in Kismet, “Miss Hannigan” in Annie, “Mrs. Lovett” in Sweeney Todd, “Vera Charles” in Mame, And The World Goes ‘Round and twice for her performance as “Mama Rose” in Gypsy. Robertson made her Broadway debut in Annie and her off-Broadway debut in Annie Warbucks. Locally, residents will recall her acting and singing with SummerPlace Theatre, too.

The performance schedule is Wednesdays at 1PM and 8PM, Thursdays and Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 4:30PM and 8PM, and Sundays at 1PM and 5PM.  Ticket prices range from $41 to $49, plus tax and handling fees. Seniors and students receive $5.00 off a full price theatre ticket on Wednesday at 1PM, Saturday at 4:30PM. and Sunday at 1PM and 5PM. On Wednesday and Thursday evenings a limited number of Dinner and Theatre tickets are available for $55.00 per person plus handling fees. Dinner is at Kings Wharf Restaurant or the Fairfield Inn (based on dining availability).
