Mark Twain was correct when he noted, "He was as shy as a newspaper is when
referring to its own merits."

That's why we appreciate what our readers are saying about Positively Naperville!

Thanks for the coverage of the Naperville Community Gardeners’ show (1:30-3PM, Saturday, August 26, FREE) in the August issue of PN.  We always appreciate the publicity, and I especially liked the setting off of the announcement in a box.
---Eleanor Holt, Publicity, Naperville Community Gardeners, www.napervillecommunitygardeners.org

Congrats on five years!  Wow, I can't believe it's been that long. I remember when you got the letter from Mrs. Bush --- how exciting that and your whole journey has been!

It's been such a crazy busy summer with me traveling, etc., that I JUST opened our (subscription of) Positively Naperville from June in which you sent me pictures of Max from the Rotary Scholarship breakfast... Thank you a million times over. ...Also, thank you for the coverage in the latest issue of PN on North's 2006-2007 theater year.
---Gale Ganet, Publicity, Naperville North High School Theatre Productions

Keep up the good work on PN!  We have had record crowds all summer at the concerts and it is just too bad we don't have new comfortable seating and public restrooms!  Maybe next year. In total we have had fifteen musical performances related to the Municipal Band which drew approximately 30,000 people!  Lots of use for good old Central Park!  Thanks to all who came and support the fine music available in Naperville.
---Ron Keller, Director, Naperville Municipal Band

Thank you for the little advertising. My new flavors came Friday. You can stop for samples --- outstanding flavors if you like chocolate.
--- Vaidas Varpucanskis, Owner, Riva Gelato
Editor's Note:  Riva Gelato is located next to the 95th Street Fry Family YMCA behind Walgreen's. The newest flavors are Amadeus Dream and Boero. Every day, the ice cream and gelato shop offers 18 different fresh flavors of creamy gelato. They serve free samples to everyone! For more information, visit www.rivagelato.com.

Thank you very much for your help and support that you always give to the Philip R. Cousin AME Church. The announcement was very beautifully put. You do such good work and you are such a blessing to more people than you realize.  Please keep reaching out to the community of Naperville. Your work is not going unnoticed.
---Barbara Ross, Pastor, Philip R. Cousin AME Church

I just got my copy of PN (from the sidewalk in front of my house) and it looks great! Thanks!!  Thanks for the Last Fling info also!

Enjoying your website SO much!
---Marj Hart, Cabot, AR

I just pulled up a map of Naperville and it doesn't look like it could be real.  I've never seen so many golf courses in my life. I work at  http://theoaksgolfclub.com in Pass Christian. My retirement job for free unlimited golf.  I received Positively Naperville  today. Thanks.
---Ron Daley, Pass Christian, Mississippi

Thank you, Positively Naperville, for your great service.
---Maria Wilson, Naperville Noon Lions Club, www.napervillenoonlions.org

Our Naperville Big Band concert on Thursday, July 13, at the Naperville Community Concert Center was once again a huge success. A large audience was present to hear big band music of the 30s, 40s and 50s. From the large audience turn-out, one might guess that the big band era is slowly making a come back. Thanks for the publicity you printed in the July issue of Positively Naperville.
---Ken Kalina, Director Naperville Big Band

I always enjoy reading the letters section of PN. I never know when my words will appear.  You always do some gracious editing, which I appreciate. Thanks once again for the great coverage which you give our club.
---Eleanor Holt, Naperville Gardeners Club, www.napervillecommunitygardeners.org

Thank you so much for such a nice article and picture in the July issue of PN regarding Dean's and the MarCom award for their Direct Mail piece.  I have had approximately 10  people mention it to me, so rest assured your publication is being read out there!  You do a great job!
----Alma Jones, Alma Jones and Associates

This year's Naperville Area Humane Society "Putts for Pets" Golf outing was a huge success and on behalf of our four-legged friends and the people whose lives they touch, I'd like to thank all of our wonderful friends (Chairperson Jennifer Brestal and all sponsors) who contributed to it.
This year's outing was held at the beautiful Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville and raised a record breaking $40,000. All proceeds from this fundraiser support the many programs and services provided the NAHS.
Finally, thanks to an outstanding Board of Directors, staff and all of our wonderful volunteers. Our success depends on your devotion, dedication and commitment and I am honored to be in your company each and every day.
---Linda L. Linford , Executive Director , Naperville Area Humane Society

Was at this year's Ribfest. Very nice. This was only the second time I've attended it (the first being it's inaugural year). Which leads to my question: What year was the first Ribfest held? I remember that it was somewhere around 1980-1983, but am not sure. It was a lot SMALLER then!
---T. Kubinski

Editor's Note:  Ribfest is an idea that stemmed from Glen Ekey, former Executive Director of the Naperville Park District, who had discovered a ribber in Michigan.  Ekey replied to Mr. Kubinski: If I'm not mistaken, this 2006 Ribfest is the 19th year of the Ribfest, which if correct would make the date of our first event, 1987, so you weren't far off on your guess of 1983-85. You're also correct in your recollection that the original Ribfest was significantly smaller than its current format.  Our original event was first held down on Rotary Hill on the Riverwalk and was probably held over the Father's Day weekend in June.  I would guess that the total attendance for the 3-day event didn't exceed 40,000 people which about equals what the current Ribfest format does in one normal day.  Things have a habit of changing and growing over the years.
The original event was co-sponsored by the Naperville Park District and the Naperville Exchange Club, newly organized at that time, looking for an opportunity to become more involved into the community.  The park district was looking to expand its community special events offerings, at the time, so it was a natural fit for the two groups to get together and team up and offer Ribfest to our local community.  From the very beginning, the Exchange Club used Ribfest as a fund raiser to benefit their major cause of Support Abused Children and continue to do a great job in that effort as of today.
Back in about 1989, or so, the two groups decided to move the event to the 4th of July weekend to coincide with the park district's annual fireworks show and allow more people to participate in the Ribfest activities.  The event was co-sponsored by the park district and the Exchange Club until sometime in the late 90's, (not sure of excite date), when the Exchange Club took over full operation of the event and expanded the Ribfest to it's current level of regional operation, which I think reaches about 35-40,000 participants a day.

I am trying to find a close friend from high school that I lost touch with when she moved 16 years ago and wanted to place the announcement ad in papers around and in the town of Naperville, IL. Also is it possible to contact someone to do an article on “lost for 16 years-trying to find”? Thank you for your assistance.
---Mike Castellana, Tampa, Florida

Thank you for publicizing our Evening Kiwanis Club fund raisers. Our Peanut
Days are Sept. 16 and 17 at the Naperville Art Fair, at Naperville train stations
on Sept. 20 and 21 and at nine store locations on Sept. 22 and 23. PN is really
great. I’m learning a lot about Naperville during this 175 birthday.  Lots of very
interesting info.
---Millie Mika, Naperville Evening Kiwanis Publicity

Naperville Nostalgia...Answer for the photo in the July 2006 edition...
The occasion for the float was Booster Day and the year was 1923. We have an
original picture here at the YMCA!
---R.J. Bartels, Executive Director, Kroehler Family YMCA

Great issue!  How many pix do you have of the band when we were at Jimmy's? I would like to put one in the book.

We had LOTS of folks say they saw the article about the Historic District Garden Walk in Pos Naper....Thank YOU!
---John Deacon, Member Naperville Historic District

Wunderbar. We are so grateful to you. I received the Positively Naperville and I always pick an extra one for Mrs. Betterman at OSWALDS. She will be back from her Germany-trip on July1. Just right for the German Service. Come to Thursday Band Concert, OUR GERMAN HERITAGE. There will be BRATWURST and lots of Umpahpa-Music. Enjoy beautiful weather. Many thanks.
---Gudrun Haas

God bless. I just want you to know that your name is all over our town.  (Pass Christian, Mississippi)  Thanks.
---Ron Daley
Editor's Note:  When 130 members from Knox Presbyterian Church took a mission trip in June to Pass Christian, Mississippi, they delivered copies of PN along with items requested from the Naperville Art League and the Naperville Libraries to help residents rebuild the Gulf Coast community devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The above e-mail came with a photo showing one of four new homes being built by Naperville Responds.

The next meeting of the Naperville Woman's Club will be August 16 at our clubhouse at 14 S. Washington St.  Social hour is from 11:30 to noon with the program to follow.  Our speaker  will be Patricia Cunningham, a counselor at Quest Clinical Services in Lisle who will present a program on living with change titled "Walking Gracefully With Transitions."  She will touch on various aspects of life transitions including dealing with death of a spouse, children's divorce and other changes as we age.  Refreshments will also be served.  Guests are welcome.  Thanks for the publicity.
---Cassie Kunsch, Publicity, Naperville Woman's Club

Many thanks for your help with the German language service held at 11:30 a.m. on every first Sunday in the month at St. John United Church of Christ, 1190 Olesen Dr., Naperville. "The FOLLIES" were a great success. I saw your (Positively Naperville's) name in it.
---Gudrun Haas

Thank you for forwarding the press release about Ella Jenkins to the Daily Herald for me. They did pick it up. Thank you also for putting it online with PN (Overflow News)!
---Kimberly Kaindls, Publicity, Naper Days, www.naperdays.org

Thanks for your support of Western DuPage Special Recreation Association activities in the pages of Positively Naperville. Our daughter-in-law, Cindy (Allston), a member of both the Naperville Exchange Club and the Naperville Chamber of Commerce, is also most appreciative of your support. Incidentally, Cindy still needs more guys to volunteer as caddies for the Western DuPage Special Recreartion Association Ladies Golf Outing on June 19 at Naperbrook Golf Course. It's a fun opportunity for both the girls and guys.
---Frank Allston

Thanks again for putting our Safety Town release on your Overflow News.  I really enjoy that part of your Web site.  Lots of good stuff!!  :-)
---Denise Petty, NJWC Publicity

The Naperville Community Gardeners won’t meet in July, so I won’t be sending any notices.  But be forewarned: In August we will not only have a meeting but we will be sponsoring the big garden show at the Rubin Center on August 26.  I will send you information about that event early in August.
Thanks again for the nice coverage you have been giving our club.  The June issue of PN had a good summary of what we have been doing.  We appreciate the notice.
---Eleanor Holt, Publicity, Naperville Community Gardeners

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the wonderful coverage (WITH COLOR) for the upcoming

Just got your latest issue of Positively Naperville---it is great!
---Dianne D'Amico, Naper Place on Main, urbanSenior Living

I just want to say thank you for the nice little story about the shop and tearoom. We had two different ladies come out today from your newspaper. We had three ladies call for reservations for the tearoom on Friday---also from your paper.  Thanks again.
---Chris Barickman, Emerson Creek Pottery and Tea Room, www.ecreekpottery.com

You have carved out a great niche. Naperville has gotten so big, there often is no room for the kind of stories you feature in the other local publications.  So I can imagine people must read your pub cover-to-cover.
---Lisa Garhan

(Naperville Nostalgia Photo in the June issue PN) I am so glad you guys are doing this again.  My aunt, Mildred Eisele, got such a kick out of figuring out the people in the pictures.  I happen to know who the lifeguard is because it is my Uncle Larry Eisele.  I think it may be unfair for me to win because I am related to him.  So let's see how many other people respond to it.
---Carol (Karpin)  Martin

Once again I am in hopes that you would be able to publish, in your July issue of Positively Naperville, the scheduled Naperville Big Band Concert at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, in Central Park. Thanks for your support in publishing the Salute to the Big Bands of the 30's, 40's, & 50's information in previous years. ---Jerry Park
Editor's Note: A photo of Collin Park appeared on page 31 in the May 2006 issue of PN. It pictured Collin Park at the wall of the Illinois Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Springfield finding the name of John C. Luebke, Jr., a soldier who gave his life for his country.

It is time for Naperville North's last stage performances, their student led One-Acts at 7PM, May 19 and May 20. ... Hopefully you can post this on your web page.  “ONE ACTS: A Little Bit of DRAMA Never Hurt Anyone!” and the flyer were produced by student Rebecca Janvrin. Thank you.
---Gale Ganet, Naperville North Theatre Publicity

In addition to USG, we're pleased to announce that First National Bank of Naperville will be sponsoring Ron Hawking's performance in Feb (in the Naperville-North Central College Performing Arts Association series). When I got to page 8 and read Joe Haselhorst's "Word of Mouth" I immediately fetched one of Herb's favorite hand-held hygiene tools and read the rest of PN while flossing. Who would have thought? My teeth are very happy, thank you, Joe.
I so appreciate the optimistic, loving patience of the Bee-Attitudes and Ed's persistent efforts to find and integrate his many hats. You funny, Ed!
And thanks for giving such heartfelt, enthusiastic and warm attention to the Bottom-feeder Ball!

---Bev Patterson Frier

I wanted to personally thank-you for your coverage of St. Baldrick's!
Your coverage was most beneficial in getting the recognition of the
event--which in turn helped to raise over $125,000 for childhood cancer
research!
We're looking forward to moving to a larger facility next year and
shaving more heads!!
Again--we appreciate your generosity and coverage!
---Kay Smith
Editor's Note: Elegante Salons provided the haircutters for St. Baldrick's. www.stbaldricks.org

Thanks for the really nice coverage on the cookbook. Thanks, too, Jo, for the photo that shows the book so clearly and also your lovely fern in the background.
I have enjoyed meeting many of the women who submitted recipes as I deliver the book to their homes. It is great fun to chat and hear even more stories about their families and their cookbook collections.  ,,,  I've been organizing some book signings and talks and very excited about the first Naper Days Blue Ribbon Baking Competition. We are going to focus on Cookies, Squares and Cupcakes. Yum---    Thanks again.  This issue of PN was packed with so many activities. It is hard to believe our community can be this busy!

Look what you do and how many of us here in Naperville do our thing to help make this a great City!

I was contacted by a writer in Seattle, Wash. this week to give him an interview about NAHC, our relations with the City and homeowners and the status of teardowns in Naperville. He is writing an article for    .    and it will appear in the next 1-2 weeks on the front page as to the building of mansions in the downtown areas across the country and how each City has coped with it and the problems. Someone referred him to me to speak about Naperville and what we, as NAHC etc, as a City and Council have done to control the buildings of these large homes in our east and west sides etc. I did refer him to Gary Karafiat and others for more detailed info.

Thanks for your patience on our NAHC monthly articles. We are proud to be able to have the space and association with a fine paper like yours.
---Chuck Schlabach, President, Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation

Thank you again for your support; we appreciated the nice article in Positively Naperville.  Personally, I enjoyed the mention of “Owen’s package” … which did quite well as one of our live auction packages.
---Candy Jackson, Organizer, Boy Scout Friends of Scouting Auction

I went to your site. That is cool.   I am not from Naperville, but in the three years that I have been coming to help at OSOT~IL, I sure am impressed with it as a town.   I live in Dwight, which has less than 5,000 people. Naperville has that small town feeling about it.
---Annette, www.osotil.org

The name Barbara Hogan Hile shocked me (Memories in Naperville Nostalgia on www.positivelynaperville.com). I am wondering her relation to Carole Hogan '63 NCHS who was a very special person in my life.
---Don Johnson, yooper49930@charter.net

I think it is great that your paper is community based and informs the public of the positive events happening in Naperville.
---Katie Saieg, Joliet, Illinois

Thanks for the exposure on the cover of March PN.  Are you going to be able to make it to the event (St. Baldrick's) on 3/10?  I’ll buy you a cold one. I'll shave your head for you---you might need a few drinks to get up the nerve.
---Brad McGuire
Editor's Note:  McGuire again will join dozens of local folks who are shaving their heads to benefit children's cancer research during St. Baldrick's from 6:30 to 11PM, Fri., March 10, at the Holiday Inn Select.  The public is invited. For info, visit www.stbaldricks.org.

Thank you for posting our release about the grant which we received from the Naperville Jayees and for posting the link to our website.  Both the article and the link will be helpful in the recruitment of new tutors whom we desperately need.
Is there a contact person to whom I can send notices of our upcoming tutor training sessions, along with notices of other events as they may occur?
---Lynn Robertson, Literacy Volunteers of DuPage, Community Outreach Coordinator

Editor's Note:  Send brief new releases, 200 words or less, by the 15th of the month for consideration in the next issue.  Send to stephanie@positivelynaperville.com.

I saw the photo & article! Hope it helps! New Blog at: www.naperculture.net ! Check it out!
---Michelle LeBlanc, Naperville Cultural Center, Main Street Promenade

Thank you for your (www.positivelynaperville.com) service. However, only Mr. Fry's link is working on your site for Council candidates. Not Mr. Miller's or the other candidate. Can you correct this?. We would like to know more about the other candidates too. We know that you want to remain impartial.
---R Jusino

Editor's Note: This comment in reference to Government Guide, available with a click by the American Flag on our home page. Our Web master has put together a great page about government. It links to just about every elected official who serves us. If a link is inactive---any place on our Web site---we welcome notification.

NAPERVILLE NOSTALGIA GUESS:  The photo on page 9 in Feb PN is fun to guess.  My thought is Left: Mary Lou Wehrli Nadelhoffer, Center back: Win Wehrli,
R: dad, Don Wehrli dressed for Halloween and 2nd row: cute Grant Wehrli.
---Rita Harvard

Marge and I are enjoying the "fruits of our labor" and have been doing a lot of traveling in our motor home. Never thought I'd be driving "Miss Daisy" in the Golden Years. ... You have to do something about Ed Channell. Ever since he's been a featured writer in Positively Naperville, he has become an expert on everything. He doesn't hesitate to tell everyone he meets that he writes a featured column for the Naperville newspaper. He has a lot of these old folks (in Florida) really snowed. In fact, he's selling subscriptions to a lot of people who don't even know where Naperville is located. ... I'm looking forward to receiving PN for the coming year.
---John Matsock, Retired in Sarasota, Florida

Thanks for the nicely boxed notice of our February meeting in the last issue of PN. We appreciate the coverage.  And we did have some guests at that meeting. I give credit to your generous help. ... Our March 6 meeting is at 7PM, at john greene Realtor, Montgomery Road (83rd Street) and Illinois Hwy. 59. Think spring!
---Eleanor Holt, Naperville Community Gardeners

Bingo! My son Jim advised me that the February issue of Positively Naperville has arrived in Palm Harbor. Thanks a bunch. I'll pick it up in a day or so.
---Frank Allston, Napervillian spending February in Florida

I want to thank you for the nice NCTV coverage in Positively Naperville. Thanks for holding the spot for the 1931 film piece. Congratulations on another great issue!

Response to Naperville Nostalgia:  Mary Lou Wehrli, Win Wehrli and Mike Steck are in the photo.  As for the little guy up front…Hmmm…who could that be?
---Grant Wehrli

I got my Positively Naperville today ... thanks for coverage on the Comedy Shrine ... I hope this (Naperville Responds) benefit is such a success that we can get the front page of next month's issue! ... It's only Tuesday and I've already started praying to the Comedy Gods!! Hopefully they're listening!!  Have a great day!
---Dave Sinker, owner of the new Comedy Shrine, www.comedyshrine.com

Thank you for the publicity of our event in your newspaper. I was thrilled to see our publicity - it looks really good! Thank-you!  What a great publication for Naperville you do!!

A Prince of Peace

In the year the market fell, well…
a King had a son.
He’d be known as a prince of peace
in a world of hate.
This great man was named after
a pastor in Germany
who was himself branded an enemy of the State
over the stand he took understood by few.
His name was a clue that his life
(also lived as a pastor)
would be played in a minor key.
Nonetheless, Martin Luther King
taught us how to sing the lyrics of love.
In 1968 hate stilled his voice, but not his song.
It still is heard in schools and churches
and city squares and everywhere
the color of a person’s blood
matters more than the color of their skin.

Happy New Year again.  What a great job you did on covering the Heritage
Event.  We have some exciting developments with the Unity Event which will
be here before we know it.
---Veronica Porter, Central Committee, Naperville's 175th Anniversary Celebration

The paper continues to look great, as usual.  Happy New Year!
---Terry Johnson, Birmingham, Michigan

Great January issue. I loved all the photos.
---Peg Price

You truly outdid yourself with "Positively" this issue (January).  I was truly impressed, not only with the photos and copy, but also with your growing number of advertisers!  Great job!!
---Shirley Pace

Just because we moved out of Naperville doesn't mean we don't still want to know what's happening in Naperville.  Please send us your great paper!
---Barb Dinon

I travel back and forth a lot from my hometown to Naperville. ...  Do you still have subscriptions to "Positively Naperville"?  I sure enjoy reading it while I'm there. Thank you.

NCO Youth & Family Services has no doubt that Santa is alive and well.  This holiday season numerous “elves” shopped, wrapped gifts and made food deliveries for our many families and youth.  The Naperville Exchange Club, various groups of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, Eaglewood Resort & Spa, Prairie Children’s Preschool PTA and many individuals stepped forward to fill the stockings of our clients.
Earlier this Fall, we were concerned about donor fatigue but by December 22 we knew that we did not need to be concerned any longer.  We truly appreciate everyone’s support of our clients and we feel truly blessed that this community has wrapped its arms around the youth and families in this community during not only this holiday season but throughout the year.
On behalf of NCO Youth & Family Services’ Board of Directors and Staff we would like to say a big thank you!
---Julie Lichter, NCO Youth & Family Services

Just checking out the PN web site and thought I'd let you know the Millennium Carillon Foundation now has a direct address (www.napercarillon.org) in case you want to add it to your list of links.  It's kept up to date pretty well by Joanne Gaspar at the NDP.
---Chuck Seidel

Are there any more papers?  We would love to have some the day of the sale (Dec. 17) and I actually gave my copy away.  We have had a great response from the story and I thank you for your help. Have a wonderful holiday and I hope things stay POSITIVE!
---Alyson Schroeder, Tall Grass Great American Bake Sale Coordinator

Hard to believe that we are beginning another year of garden-club activities, but our first meeting will be held in three weeks.  We always appreciate your including our news in PN when it is possible, so here is information about the January meeting in case you have room in the January issue. The Naperville Community Gardeners will meet on Monday, January 9, 2006,  at 7 p.m. at john greene Realtor, Montgomery Road (83rd Street) and IL Hwy. 59. Happy New Year!
--Eleanor Holt, Naperville Community Gardeners

Regarding Ed's Many Hats:  I've just read, and liked, your column in the December Positively Naperville. I think you would enjoy a book titled Eats, Shoots and Leaves (if you haven't come across it already---Anderson's has it). It actually makes punctuation rules entertaining, e.g., "Eats shoots and leaves" has a very different meaning than "Eats, shoots, and leaves".
---Dick Page

Thank you for all you do to spotlight the qualities and character of Naperville that make it one of the best places to live, work and raise a family.
---Idalynn Wenhold, Executive Director of KidsMatter

Happy Holidays! Thank you for all your help in publicizing Naper Settlement's events this past year. The New Year will be filled with lots of activities as we kick off Naperville's 175th anniversary.
---Donna DeFalco

I'm Dreaming of a Naperville Christmas

I'm dreaming of a certain place
that's blessed with beauty and God's grace.
And though I live quite far away
I'm wishing I was there.

In Naperville white lights abound
on trees and shops and all around
that welcome shoppers to a feast
intended for the eyes.

Our Santa mayor dons his suit
while we prepare to spend our loot
on presents piled neath the tree
all tagged for those we love.

The Riverwalk is trimmed in red
for downtown diners wined and fed
who stroll across the covered bridge
to drink in winter's night.

The season's joys are in the air,
on city streets and everywhere
as faiths and cultures dance a waltz
that celebrates good times.

And though I can't be there this year
I'm grateful e-mail keeps me near
those friends and neighbors in a town
I always will call home.

Thank you very much for including the photo of my packages in the current issue of Positively Naperville.  Wrapping packages is my passion and I certainly have a lot of fun doing it.  Probably I am one of the few people who regrets when there are no more presents left to wrap!  Jo Lundeen has done a wonderful job of photographing them.  It was a pleasure to work with her on this.
---Janet Denler
Editor's Note:  Look for more of Denler's beautifully wrapped gifts and her story featured in the Naperville/Lisle Daily Herald during this Christmas season.

After reading (Ed Channell's) article in Positively Naperville, I felt that you would appreciate the following poem:

        Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word

It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
        Its rare lea ever wrong.

Eye have run this poem threw it

I just wanted to thank you for the Exchange Club coverage in Positively Naperville.  Your article on our membership was great!
---Scot Warren, President-Elect Exchange Club of Naperville

Regarding Ed' Many Hats:  I always enjoy reading your columns and it’s about time that I thank you.  The current one is especially delightful.  Don’t let the punctuation stuff worry you too much, a little license can be fun.  By the way, the hat you were wearing at the recent 35 cent Club, pictured in the same issue, is quite dashing----------maybe you could wear it for your next column!
---Peg Yonker

I meant to tell you that I talked to two separate couples that came to see, "The Dining Room" after reading about it in your newspaper. I was terribly excited to hear that! So, thank you!

Boy, this year has gone by fast hasn't it?  Here is the coffee information for December 5. (10:30AM at the Naperville Municipal Center.) The only difference here besides the date is that I've taken Family Game Night off the activities, no chairperson.
Happy Holidays, everyone, from the Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club.

Thank you for your generous gift (of Positively Naperville). We have just moved here from Florida. I am a bit curious how you can deliver the paper to me. You say it is available at the stores you listed. Are they free there? Once again thank you for such a nice welcome gift.

The dogs and cats are still dancing, because the 2005 Naperville Area Humane Society Gala Dinner Dance was such a success! I’d like to thank all of the people who enjoyed dinner, dancing, music and a myriad of silent auction donations throughout the evening.  The Dinner Dance raised over $50,000, which will be used to continue and expand the animal and community programs we sponsor. The dogs, cats and humans who are educated and entertained by these programs are grateful to you all!

---Gary Baumgartner

I just wanted to thank you for running two articles in two editions of Positively Naperville about our need for beds.  While we still continue to have a shortage of beds for our client families, I was surprised at the number of calls we received due to the articles in Positively Naperville.  I had about 12 phone calls from people who referenced Positively Naperville and who had not heard about Sharing Connections before. I am sure this is the tip of the iceberg.  I thought you would be interested in this. Thanks so much for your help.
---Judie Caribeaux, Executive Director, Sharing Connections

I finally had a day to sit down and catch up on my reading and had the FUN of going page by page through Positively Naperville...my favorite newspaper reading for sure!  Each issue is better than the last......if that is possible!  Just wanted to let you know how much all the Burtons enjoy the publication.

Thank you so much, I did receive the Les Schrader calendar (Prize for Sept. Naperville Nostalgia). Having been a big part of the Postmark Naperville book, I’m proud to say I know who he is! It is a beautiful gift.   It was fun browsing around your web site, keep up the good work with that and the newspaper. I have had a link to your site from my own for a while now, because I think it’s worthwhile.
