Imagine Rotary Hill with 2009 American flags!
The Naperville Exchange Club, in collaboration with the Naperville Park District, local veterans’ organizations and other community groups, families and individuals, will host the Naperville Healing Field of Honor in November. Organizers welcome everyone to help fill Rotary Hill with 2009 American flags during the week of November 8 to 14 as a way to say thank you to everyone who has ever served our country while also raising money and awareness for a growing array of unmet needs for veterans and their families.
Patriotic carillon concerts; views from atop the Moser Tower, a Tag a Flag ceremony on Sun., Nov. 8; evening illumination at Rotary Hill; a special observance of Veterans Day at 11 a.m., on Wed., Nov. 11; and other activities are planned to unite the community during this all-American event.
Orders for individual three-foot by five-foot American flags with eight-foot poles are being taken at $30 each. Proceeds from flag sales will benefit Fisher House, a new facility being built to provide lodging for family members of patients who are hospitalized at Hines VA Hospital in Hines, Ill. To purchase a flag, contact Anna Zimmerman at annaz@wowway.com. For more information on the Healing Field project, visit www.healingfield.org/Naperville.
