Remember in November!
Hand-painted sign on
pick-up truck driving around Naperville in August 2010

It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood.
James Madison

Let there be no change [in Constitutional powers] by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed.
George Washington

Educate and inform Everyone… They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.
—Thomas Jefferson

I have just received the following telegram from my generous daddy. It says, 'Dear Jack: Don't buy a single vote more than necessary. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for a landslide.'
—John F. Kennedy
Gridiron Dinner
Washington, DC, 1958

In more recent years, the mantra for Naperville Community First was
"Educate, communicate, cooperate."

Editor's note: We also like the idea of decodification.  For every new law proposed, at least five old laws should be proprosed for repeal.

We urge every individual to read the U.S. Constitution and its amendments, to study the ideals of our founding fathers and to learn our nation's history.

Think for liberty. Think about all the sacrifices that have been made to protect our freedom.

And Remember!
Vote between 6AM-7PM,
Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010.
It's more important this year
than ever!

Thank you for your time and interest in this great nation.

God Bless America!

HOW TO REGISTER TO VOTE
DuPage County
Will County

Another reason to register to vote by Oct. 5, 2010...

The U.S. National Debt topped
$13,050,826,460,886.97
the week of June 7, 2010.

Yes, that's trillions!  How much is a trillion?

First, consider one million.

Let's say you started counting from one to one million right now... You didn't stop to eat or sleep and you allowed 2 seconds for every number.  It would take you 23 days just to get to one million.

Above, the red six (6) marks the spot where you'd be after nearly 140 days and you've only just begun to get to 10 million.

How many days to Nov. 2?

On this day in June, it's about 140 days (about equal to time it takes to count nonstop to 6 million).

Wherever you live in this great nation and whatever your opinion about the National Debt, be sure to register to vote by Oct. 5 so you can vote in the 2010 General Election. Thank you.

P.S.  Using a similar formula and pronouncing every syllable of every number, it would take 190,259 years to count to one trillion.  Now multiply by 13...and see how far you can count.

On Aug. 23, the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its monthly luncheon at the Holiday Inn Select, featuring a non-partisan educational opportunity to learn why it's more important than ever to vote in the Nov. 2 General Election.

Chamber President John Schmitt welcomed Miles White and R. Eden Martin of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago to discuss the Illinois Is Broke Coalition. This initiative is going to be one of the most important grassroots efforts the Chamber has ever partnered with in our history, noted Schmitt.

More than 150 luncheon attendees were encouraged to visit www.illinoisisbroke.com for facts about retirement benefits, pensions and budget deficits.  Consider joining business leaders, chamber members, social service agency directors and other Illinois residents, all of whom are concerned about the state's financial crisis.

To learn more about proposals to fix the state budget and reduce costs, visit

Thanks for supporting
local businesses
now more than ever...
