Mailman just delivered the latest "Positively Naperville." Looks very good!
---Frank Osterland
I love the new masthead for the paper, too. Very classy.
---Greg Asimakoupoulos
I love the new look for PN - the new logo looks great (very up to date) and I
like the purple color instead of the red. Purple is a very hot color right
now.
Congratuations on two years, already! Life is moving too quickly.
---Mary Ann Junkroski
I really like the Positively Naperville new look ~ very nice!

Please let me know where I can obtain extra copies of the August issue?

when we mail out invitations for the 2004 show.

LOVE this newspaper. It is a more worthwhile local paper than (other dailies) In fact, it took me longer to read it than a week's worth of (a local daily) and I received much more information than I ever have had from (a local daily).
Thank you for giving us so much local news in such a concise manner. Wish your paper would come out once a week.
---Betty Menne
I checked out your site -it's wonderful. I will work at bringing more press releases to PN - are you still giving free issues? I could leave them in our break room
Hope all is well.

I wrote the following poem for my dad (a former Marine) for Memorial Day. Could you forward this to Bob Ditchman or Bill Skidmore. I read about their upcoming event in November's PN. Thanks.
---Greg
Semper Fi
Semper Fi will always rally
all who will to give their best.
For Marines are always faithful
as they stand up to each test.
And with uniform allegiance
they, with bravery, take the lead
to defend the greatest country
or to rescue those in need.
Some were killed and some were wounded.
Still they made the sacrifice.
These Marines know peace is worth it.
They know freedom has a price.
And Marines (unlike the others)
claim a bond with their own kind.
They are brothers, though they're strangers.
And their shoes are always shined.
And they walk erect and proudly
with a twinkle in their eye.
They feel honored they were called on
to be known as Semper Fi.
---by Greg Asimakoupoulos
Thank you ever so much for the nice article (WDSRA Expressive Art Exhibit) and photo in November's PN.

Thanks so very much for enabling KidsMatter to share the asset-building message through Positively Naperville. I ... truly believe that (Positively Naperville) is furthering the mission of this community by lifting up the positive people/places/things that are happening. As you know, unless they are pointed out, people sometimes have the tendency to only see the negative. (Positively Napeville) helps people to see the glass half full. Thanks!

We wanted to thank you so much for the wonderful article on My Chef in your November issue. We appreciate the extra attention and support! ... Thank you so much! I saw that Sr. Andrea's sale mentioned as well as our (St. Patrick's) cookie walk. I love getting the newspaper. It's filled will so many wonderful community stories, and since I've been working in Naperville, I'm actually meeting many of the people in the articles, so it's nice to see what they're doing! Good job! It's a great paper.
---Madelene
Thank you for all the good coverage! We get many nice comments from our constituents who say they read about Bridge in Positively Naperville!
If you are ever interested in doing a feature with a photo on Bridge, please let me know. We partner with Families Helping Families which would make a nice story for your Naperville audience.

I appreciated your Positively Naperville followup article about the
Nitra and Naperville First Decade Celebration. You probably garnered some
information from the old Sister Cities brochure which stated that Nitra is
a 6,000 year old city. Actually it is about a 1,000 year old city. In
September, 1998 Nitra celebrated its 750th anniversary as a royal chartered
city. Sts. Cyril and Methodius went there from Constantinople in 863 to
codify the language and bring Christianity to Central Europe. Naperville
sent a twenty plus person delegation to Nitra at that time to participate
in the celebrations. In addition to Mayor Pradel, former Assistant City
Manager Craig Blomquist and police officer Russ Wolf and a Naperville North
police cadet were official city representatives. School districts 203 (Don
Weber) and 204 (Board member Owen Vavrinek), Benedictine University (Dr.
Susan Mikula and Rev. Philip Timko) the YMCA (Roy Bynum), the Daily Herald
(photographer Paul Michna and Ray Minor), NCTV (Susan ??, since moved from
Naperville), the Chamber (Mike Skarr), Hon. Consul Thomas Klimek Ward and
Dennis and I were among the group. It was a wonderfully healthy cross
section of representatives. While there, all of us made visits to cohort
organizations to learn and to discuss possible exchanges.
It was also the last time that Naperville has sent an official delegation
to Nitra. The exchanges to Nitra that have occurred since then were
initiated by church groups and by the Naperville Baseball Association. My
hope is that we will soon send another official delegation.
Again, thanks for your promotion of Naperville.

I enjoy reading my PN newspaper and note the section listing government officials, e.g., city council, school board members. How about listing the Naperville Township officials: Supervisor George Porter, Clerk Carol Bertulis, Assessor Warren Dixon, Jr., and Trustees Delores Newman, Richard Price, Fred Spitzzeri and Gary Vician. Just a thought. Thank you.

The coverage you provided in Positively Naperville was a major help to us last year and we are hopeful that you can again include us in your March issue.
I've asked Laura Milligan, our Exec. Dir. to e-mail you with a press release (regarding Ecumenical Adult Care Raffle) asap. After two years as board Pres., I'm taking a break this year and am not on the Exec. Comm.
Your web site is very well done. Makes me more proud than ever to live in Naperville.

Thank you very much for correcting the picture in PN - but you really didn't need to do that!!! I've enjoyed the comments and jokes from friends and now I can assume another identity - ha!! It's amazing how many people read PN, I think it's a great newspaper and I look forward to reading every issue. ...Keep up the hard work!
Thanks and hope to see you soon!

The PN website is absolutely wonderful! It has something for everyone...really appeals to all age groups. And that's not an easy achievement! Thanks for all you continue to do both in print and on the web.

'Spose you are going to be taking pictures at the parade. I recall a few years sitting to watch the parade, and someone was handing out this new newspaper called Positively Naperville. I looked at it and thought, this will never fly. Never heard of it before, and had never heard of you. Thanks for all the enlightenment you have brought not only to me, but the town!

I'm told it (Positively Naperville) has definitely impacted the attendance at monthly meetings (Our Children's Homestead). I would love to work with you on a different angle to the organization as well and I'm getting two other releases out today one about their birthday in a bag volunteer effort and the other on their upcoming Summer Wishes Program. We were so tickled to see ourselves appearing again in PN side by side with Genevieve!! We couldn't be happier with the way things are going...The ethusiasm is so high for our book (Postmark Naperville) and it has been selected as one of the 2004-2005 Battle of the Books choices for 203. Recently, PN received some memories for Naperville Nostalgia signed by Bob Raymond. The following is the response to the question, "Is Bob Raymond (former Chairman of the DuPage County Board) your dad?"
Hey...Thanks for the e-mail. Yes, Bob Raymond in Tabor Hills is my father!
My sister Barb lives in Galena and sent me your website. I just loved it!
Thanks for doing that.

Barbara and I have enjoyed the interesting new July issue of PN. I found the photograph of Roy and me and the one of Roy with the golf umbrella, provided courtesy of an unidentified good Samaritan in the crowd. Typical of the great Naperville community spirit!

Wow! I think this is the best issue so far! SOOOO much information! That's great.... Congrats on a good issue!
---Jo Lundeen
Thank you for publishing the article about Naperville's Big Jazz Band in the July issue of Postively Naperville. Amazing how many people told me today about the article and especially surprised about the background of the female vocalist. Your newspaper is great-grass roots Naperville, something the Sun had at one time with Harold White on board ... I live at Tabor Hills, and at a gathering last Saturday I met Jo Lundeen, photographer, who is willing to take a photo of the band for future use.
... Again, thank you for printing the news release. A job well done!

Appreciate the info in the NAHC column on National Night Out from Marita Manning - one of my favorite people anyway. Thanks. Good info. I was so pleased to see in the August issue of Positively Naperville the excellent article about our flower and garden show. Thank you for putting it in. I will thank you publicly tonight at our monthly meeting.
Each year we get more entries from gardeners outside the club, and they learn about the show from articles like this one. Thank you for your encouragement and support.

One of our Trustees pointed out to me that you have all local elected officials listed in Positively Naperville except for township elected officials. Would it be possible to add ours to your list? They are as follows:

Carol Bertulis, Town Clerk
Stan Wojtasiak, Highway Commissioner
Dick Price, Trustee
Gary Vician, Trustee
Fred Spitzzeri, Trustee
Delores Newman, Trustee
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Our regular meeting dates are the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month.
