Naperville’s Sportsman’s Park is set to reopen for trapshooting Dec. 21

Sportsman’s Park will reopen for trapshooting beginning at noon this Sun., Dec. 21.

Three ranges are set for trapshooters when Sportsman Park reopens on Sun., Dec. 21.

Since mid-June, Sportsman’s Park has been closed for site remediation work and park improvements.

Contractors will continue working on landscape restoration and backfilling of the parking lot and sidewalks; however, work at the site has progressed to the point where the facility is able to reopen for shooting.

sportsman-range-rulesRegular trapshooting hours are 6-10PM on Thursdays and 12 noon-6PM on Sundays.

Due to the holidays, there will be no shooting on Thursdays, December 25 and January 1.

According to the Naperville Park District website, “fees for shooting are $10.75 for club members, $12.00 for residents, and $13.25 for nonresidents. The fee includes 25 clay targets and shotgun shells. Sportsman’s Park is a steel-shot-only range. Eye and ear protection is mandatory. Shooters must provide their own shotguns and F.O.I.D. card.”

The Sportsman’s Park Community Clubhouse, available for rental, has a capacity limited to 50. For rental information, call (630) 848-5000.

Sportsman Park  is located on West Street, just north of the Community Garden Plots and across from Knoch Park.
