Naperville Kiwanis Peanut Days fundraiser kicks off in mid-September.
According to Floyd Mallory, Kiwanis members will be asking for local support “as they work the sidewalks and business fronts of Naperville.”
They also will pitch packs of peanuts for pocket change during the weekend of the Naperville Art League Riverwalk Fine Art Fair Sept. 20-21.
In addition, local businesses and individuals can contribute to this fundraising initiative by sponsoring the purchase of a 100-count box of peanuts for $50 in support of Operation Support Our Troops-America. Last year more than 15,000 individual packets of peanuts were shipped to men and women who have put themselves in harm’s way via OSOT-America, noted Mallory.
“The little bags of peanuts supplied are great in filling those nooks and crannies in the care packages,” he said.
Each package shipped has the name of one person on the label. Individuals can submit a name for a loved one to receive a care package from home by visiting, www.osotamerica.org.
To be a sponsor, contact Bob Harcourt via e-mail RHarcou@aol.com.
Members of the Evening Kiwanis appreciate all support of Kiwanis Peanut Days.
“Together we can all make a difference,” notes Mallory.
