Police arrest suspect for making threats of gun violence against Neuqua, faculty

-

On Sunday, April 22, at approximately 11:45PM, Naperville Police Investigators arrested Samuel Rogers, 18, of the 2600 block of Bangert Court in Naperville, following an investigation into online threats of gun violence against Neuqua Valley High School and a school faculty member.

The Will County States Attorney’s Office approved the charge of Disorderly Conduct, a Class 4 Felony. At this time, no additional details will be provided pertaining to the threats made.

“Threats of violence will absolutely not be tolerated in our community, especially in our schools, where students’ main concern should be their education, not their safety,” said Police Chief Robert Marshall. “As evidenced by this charge, any threats made against our school personnel or our citizens will be taken very seriously by the police department and will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.”

“We appreciate the work of the Naperville Police Department in investigating this matter and in always keeping our school community safe,” said District 204 Superintendent Karen Sullivan.

The Naperville Police Department encourages anyone with any information about any threat to an individual or school community to contact police immediately by dialing 9-1-1.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
