NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Department of Public Works is hosting its annual Arbor Day Tree Sale from 8AM to noon on Sat., April 28, 2018, at the Public Works Service Center, 180 Fort Hill Drive.
The public will be able to select from a large variety of trees at tremendous savings for use in beautifying their yards and sustaining the environment. A listing of the species available, along with prices and more information, can be found on the Arbor Day Tree Sale webpage.
Attendees may pay by cash or check, and all trees purchased must be removed by noon. No commercial sales are allowed. Trees will be located inside the Public Works Service Center to avoid the public standing outside in the event of inclement weather. All trees available for purchase are container grown, so they are easier to transport than trees that are wrapped in burlap. Public Works employees will be on hand to help load trees into vehicles.
Order rain barrels now to pick up on April 28
The public is also invited to order a rain barrel online for pick-up during the tree sale. All orders must be placed in advance. More information on rain barrels and the City’s other environmental sustainability efforts can be found on the City’s Environmental Sustainability webpage.
Naperville has been named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for 28 consecutive years thanks to its work to develop a thriving urban forest. The City joins more than 3,400 communities that enjoy this distinction.
