History Speaks Lecture Series: Mexican-American Boxcar Communities in Chicago and the Midwest – 4PM | $7-10P

Chicago’s pivotal role as railroad capitol of the U.S. is well known, however the history of Mexicans who worked for Chicago area railroads and lived in railroad boxcars is largely unknown. Dr. Antonio Delgado, who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in Urban Planning/Public Policy Analysis, will explore these missing pages of American History that exemplifies the contributions of Mexicans to the development of Chicago and the Midwest. This History Speaks Lecture Series will take place on April 8 from 4 to 5PM in Naper Settlement’s Century Memorial Chapel. Admission for non-members is $10 for adults, $9 for youth and students. Admission for members is $8 for adults and $7 for youth and students. Registration is recommended. napersettlement.org.

The Naperville Municipal Band will perform its Spring Concert on at 3PM Sun., April 22, at the Wentz Concert Hall.  Admission to the concert is free of charge.
