This year marked the 25th anniversary of the West Suburban Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Naperville. With humble beginnings in 1993, Kevin M. Dolan organized a four-block Parade with a handful of people in his committee.
The Parade held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, now under the leadership of WSI President Chuck Corrigan, welcomed nearly 100 entries, including Irish dancers, three marching bands, and more than 3,500 participants to the frivolity focused on fun for family and friends.
The annual event traditionally held the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day attracted 10,000 spectators and canines, getting their green on from Mill Street through downtown Naperville to Water Street. (Note many revelers were attired in commemorative hand-crafted scarfs that sold for $5 each to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation.)
Naperville loves a parade! Happy day!
