Pulse of Naperville Music Scene – Who is Moriah Formica?

-

I remember my wife rolling her eyes when I asked her if she knew who Moriah Formica was.

“You post things about her every day,” she said. “How can I NOT know who she is?”

Well, I didn’t realize I was quite that outspoken, but I do remember saying in one (or two, or three of those posts) that she will be a household name in the very near future. That was about a year ago.

Fast forward to today….

As I sit typing this, I patiently await Moriah’s appearance this season on The Voice, the popular singing competition on the NBC network. I am not a regular viewer of the program, but I do know that they churn out more stars than the Milky Way. So, yeah. Moriah Formica, that 17-year old powerhouse singer/guitarist from upstate New York that I have been ranting and raving about, is about to put her name into quite a few homes.

As you will hear if you watch the show, Moriah is an extremely gifted young artist. Though her talent is what drew my attention to her many months ago, it was her heart and her level head that really put me in her corner. Over the past year or so, I have gotten to know Moriah and her family quite well through conversations and Facebook posts. This is a family with a positive support system and a strong moral compass, and that kind of inspiring positivity is something that reverberates through Moriah’s booming voice.

I will be watching proudly! Don’t do us wrong The Voice. America needs Moriah Formica right now.
