Project will be divided into three phases, 7AM to 4PM weekdays, to minimize disruption to commuters.
NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Construction on the Naperville Metra Station located at 105 E. 4th Ave. will begin on Mon., Sept. 25. Work on the roof, soffit, fascia and exterior brick of the building is expected to take up to six weeks to complete. Work will be divided into three two-week phases to keep the station open and minimize the disruption to commuters.
Construction is scheduled between 7AM and 4PM, Monday through Friday, weather dependent. During each phase of the work, a section of the building will be fenced off and temporary barricades, flaggers and signage will be in place to direct commuters when necessary.
The current construction schedule calls for work to be completed on the east side of the building from September 25 through October 6, the center of the building from October 9 through 20, and the west side of the building from October 23 through November 3.
All schedules are dependent on weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Commuters asked to plan accordingly for changes
While no services will be shut down completely during construction, commuters should expect some changes to station access, number of accessible daily fee machines and placement of bike racks throughout various phases of the project. Commuters are asked to plan accordingly for these changes.
