NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Naperville Police have secured home invasion, aggravated battery and domestic battery charges against a Chicago man who forced entry into a Naperville home in a domestic-related dispute on Mon., Sept. 18, and injured an officer while fleeing the scene.

Quincy Devon Watson

Quincy Devon Watson, 36, of the 2000 block of West 68th Street in Chicago, is charged with the following:

  • Domestic Battery (2 counts) – Class A Misdemeanor
  • Home Invasion – Class X Felony
  • Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer – Class 2 Felony
  • Aggravated Obstructing a Peace Officer – Class 4 Felony
  • Criminal Trespass to Residence – Class 4 Felony
  • Aggravated Driving While License Revoked – Class 4 Felony

It is alleged that Watson forced entry into a home on White Thorn Circle (south of 87th Street and east of Rt. 59) in a domestic-related dispute. Upon arrival of responding officers, Watson fled the scene in a burgundy Nissan Murano, dragging an officer in the process and causing injury to that officer.

Watson was located and arrested later the same day in Villa Park.

The Naperville Police Officer injured at the scene remains at Edward Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Report submitted by Commander Louis Cammiso, Public Information Officer, for the Naperville Police Department.
