The perfect background for a special Anderson’s Bookshop event coming on Wednesday, September 6. “Coming to America” stories in just six words are the idea behind this special project with editor Larry Smith. His new book, Six Words Fresh Off the Boat, is a wonderful collection of such meaningful stories. Attendees will learn how the project also ties to the popular ABC TV show, “Fresh Off the Boat.”
The broad idea is that these transitional themes are shared by many, and bring the immigration experience alive to all who read or hear them. And the opportunity to participate and learn ore first-hand about that adventure is here next week.

Beginning at 7PM Wed., Sept. 6, Smith will present his new book at Anderson’s Bookshop, 5112 Main St. in Downers Grove. This event is free and open to the public. To join the booksigning line, please purchase Six Words Fresh Off the Boat from Anderson’s Bookshop. Local contributors will be on hand to add their six words. A video presentation will be included, followed by a six word slam!
