Above / The natural trails at Springbrook Forest Preserve will provide the setting for the 2nd Annual Willow’s Walk for the Kids beginning at 8AM on Sat., Aug. 19, 2017.
Willow’s Walk for the Kids, a 2.5 mile family dog walk, will step off at 8AM Sat. Aug. 19, from Road Runner Sports in the Springbrook Prairie Pavilion, located at 2555 W. 75th Street. The walk will follow the trail through Springbrook Forest Preserve to the picnic shelter.
The Winged Foot Foundation, a 501 (C) 3 charity, is collaborating with Road Runner Sports to host a family-friendly time for walkers and their dogs to hike one mile into the Springbrook Forest Preserve and then back. Every dog will receive a Willow’s Walk for the Kids Bandana for a $25 donation, tax deductible receipts will be available.
According to store supervisor Eric Primozick, all proceeds will be donated to the Winged Foot Foundation’s area running shoe collection and distribution program to benefit Chicagoland’s less fortunate student athletes.
Same-day registration runs 7–7:45AM at Road Runner Sports, Suite 111, 2555 W. 75th St. in Naperville.
Refreshments and raffle prizes will be offered at the picnic shelter. The walk will commence rain or shine.
Donate new or used running wear
Organizers also will accept donations of new or gently-used running shoes or sports clothing.
