Above/ Alert! Edward Hospital campus will hold a full-scale safety drill on Thursday morning, April 20, 2017.
Edward Hospital, in partnership with the Naperville Police, Fire and Emergency Management Departments, will conduct a Full-Scale Safety Drill beginning approximately at 7AM and running through 10AM on Thursday, April 20.
The exercise will affect various areas of the hospital, located at 801 S. Washington St.
The hospital holds several drills each year to prepare and test its responses in the event of a disaster in Naperville or surrounding communities.
Watch for noticeable presence of emergency vehicles early on April 20
Prior to and during the drill, there will be a noticeable presence of law enforcement and fire department personnel and vehicles on the Edward Hospital campus and inside Edward Hospital. Naperville police officers and firefighter/paramedics will be taking part in the drill.
Note Edward Hospital access closures 5:30 to 11AM along Washington Street
Between 5:30 – 11:30AM on the day of the drill, drivers will not be able to access the Edward Hospital campus turning right onto the hospital’s North Drive from southbound Washington St. nor will drivers, when exiting the North Circle in front of Edward Hospital, be able to turn right onto North Drive to get to Washington St. All other entry/exit points and roads at the hospital will be open.
The east side of the hospital’s Medical Office Building (MOB) courtyard will be closed off during the drill, but the MOB circle drive, where patients are dropped off and picked up, will remain open. Foot traffic into the MOBs will not be affected.
