Volunteers from Naperville’s Veterans’ organizations will host the Naperville VFW All You Can Eat Fish Fry open to the public every Friday 4:30-8PM from through Apr 14 at the Judd Kendall VFW, 908 W Jackson St, Naperville. The menu for Week #2 at the popular tradition varies, but it will feather two kinds of fish, chicken, salad, vegetables, (normally 9 different items) plus rolls, desert and coffee. Little Friends’ 41st Annual Benefit Auction will be held Sat., March 4, 2017, at the Hilton Lisle-Naperville, located on the south side of Warrenville Road just east of Naperville Road. This annual event is the agency’s largest fundraiser and features an elegant evening complete with a cocktail reception, dinner, silent and live auctions, raffles, live entertainment and more. North Central College hosts Chords for Kids, an annual concert for children with special needs and their families, at 7PM Saturday, March 4, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The College’s Concert Winds and Symphony Band will perform music that ranges from classical pieces to popular tunes. Church services in the German language will be held at St. John United Church of Christ at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 5. The service will be led by Pastor Dr. Egon Gerdes, and all are welcome to attend. St. John UCC is located at 1190 Olesen Drive. Kinetic Dance Company’s Winter Show: Raising the Barre – 3PM | $10-$20.

Come join the Kinetic Dance Company at their annual Winter Show which will be held at Wentz Hall in downtown Naperville. A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to The American Cancer Society as well as The Kinetic Dance Company. Exciting raffle baskets will be at the show as well. Be prepared to pay close attention as hopefuls rev up in the coming weeks, running to present the issues in the Consolidated Election slated for April 4, 2017. 48 local residents turned in petition packets hopeful to fill seats up for election of local taxing bodies. …And some elections will be more competitive than others.  Follow local elections for City Council, Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners, Boards of Education for Districts 203 and 204 as well as township trustees and College of DuPage trustees. Get to know the issues and the candidates. Meet and greet the candidates when opportunities present themselves.
