Above / It’s another sunny day in Naperville! Already the Riverwalk is bustling with folks of all ages from Hillside to Jefferson. Visit this spot near Main Street to learn a little about the dedicated Riverwalk Visionaries that built the natural treasure, now in its 36th year. Enjoy a stroll of the Riverwalk, then hike over to downtown for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner and shopping in between meals.

Folks! Remember to look up U.S. Presidents every day around Naperville for local lore and historic storytelling.

Naperville Central Musicians to Fill Lobby of Hotel Indigo with Sounds of Hope – 10AM-5PM | Donations

Instrumental and Choral students from Naperville Central High School will fill the lobby of the new Hotel Indigo Naperville Riverwalk with music on Sunday from 10 am- 5 pm.  The young musicians are hoping to raise funds to support flooding victims from the recent storms that hit Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Doug Kelly, Director of Sales for the hotel says “We want to be an advocate for our local schools while we add cultural amenities to the Hotel Indigo.  This program fits perfectly with our desire to connect guests to the Naperville neighborhood experience. We are looking forward to showcasing this young talent.”

Peek through the door window to check out where the eagle has landed along Webster Street near Water Street. The original work by Mexican artist Spaik depicts one of the elements in the Mexican flag on the wall of the soon-to-open (mid-March) restaurant Quiubo.

High school students and their parents or guardians are invited to attend NCC’s Visit Day on Monday, Feb. 20, in the Wentz Concert Hall lobby, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Visitors can choose to attend a morning session with check-in at 9:30AM or a later one at 11:45AM. Both sessions offer opportunities to take a walking tour and attend informative sessions on financial aid, academic highlights and student life, with optional tours of athletic and fine arts facilities. Making a mess is generally frowned upon, but here, we will experiment with everything from slime to silly putty to gaseous compounds of foaming, fizzing and bubbling explosions! Some of the hands-on experiments will get grimy, so be sure to wear your lab coat (or old clothes you don’t mind getting dirty for the sake of learning!). For children in grades 1-5. – Dive into the world of slime and goo to create Galaxy Slime. – Make a bubbling explosion in a bag. – Use household and pantry items to create “bath fizzies.” $120/camper for all three School’s Out Days (2/20, 3/3, 3/27) or $45/camper/day; registration required. www.napersettlement.org.

Get to know the issues and the candidates. Meet and greet the candidates when opportunities present themselves.
