UPDATE, July 11, 2019 / Today we are remembering Justin Wegner, the younger son of Cathy and Ed Wegner of Naperville, grateful for exceptional spirit.
Original Post, Feb. 16, 2017 / Call it #RedhawkStrong, #WarhawkStrong or #JWegStrong.
Whatever you decide to call it, Justin Wegner’s return home to Naperville Wednesday after a three-month stay at MD Anderson in Houston was clad in purple.
The 2015 Naperville Central alumnus and member of the Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball program has been fighting a rare soft tissue sarcoma.
Three days after turning 20, Wegner got to finally ring the bell to signify the completion of his radiation.

Diagnosed with a desmoplastic small round cell tumor last summer, he’s had his sights squarely set on being able to return to Wisconsin-Whitewater in the fall.
With numerous friends and family waiting at the Wegner house to welcome Justin and his mother, Cathy, home from Houston on Wednesday – that quest continues.
