Art Talk – Naperville Art League invites artists to enter 14th Annual Public Competition

-

For the 14th consecutive year, the Naperville Art League (NAL) is inviting individuals to enter an original work of art into their public art contest. This year’s theme, “#SillySeriousness,” was inspired by the collaboration between the arts organization and fellow non-profit, Loaves and Fishes Community Services. By creating a partnership for the competition, both groups hope to reach a larger audience and raise awareness of their presence in the community.

Eligibility for participation in the competition is open to high school students, college students and adults. Entrants may submit pieces interpreting the theme in virtually any media. Pieces may be representational or abstract and must be original in design, concept and execution.

Entries will be accepted at the Naperville Art League’s Fine Art Center & Gallery from noon until 4PM any Wednesday, Thursday or Friday; or from 10AM to 4PM on Saturdays through February 25.

Cash awards will be given for Best of Show and Awards of Excellence.

Applications and details on media, size and other requirements are available from the Naperville Art League, by calling (630) 355-2530 or at www.napervilleartleague.com.

The works will be exhibited at the Naperville Art League’s Fine Art Center & Gallery, 508 N. Center St. March 15 through March 25 with a special reception and awards ceremony from 2PM to 4PM on Sunday, March 19.
