WSI Quiz Night buffs read up to prepare to enter PN’s Naper 2017 Trivia

-

Above / Patti Powers, Kevin McQuillan and Chuck Corrigan, members of the West Suburban Irish who regularly attend WSI Quiz Night at Quigley’s Irish Pub on the first Tuesday of most months, took a few minutes to egg each other on regarding participating in the 2017 round of PN’s annual Naper Trivia.

Cheers to another year of good things happening!

The January issue of PN again hit the streets the first week of the New Year to avoid being tossed out with all the holiday wrappings. Copies of the monthly publication are now available at its regular distribution racks around town.

What’s more, the January issue also features a test of local lore, a fun way to check your knowledge about this ever-changing community that has attracted many risk-takers with ideas to build a community with attractive amenities, volunteer spirit and more.

PN’s annual trivia test, with true/false and multiple choice questions, is featured in the print edition so readers can “study up” and be prepared when the 50-question quiz goes live online on Fri., Jan. 13. Note, some bonus questions will be added. And rules are subject to change with spontaneity.

In addition to the grand prize for the highest score, prizes will be awarded to the first person as well as the last person to end the quiz online.

To be eligible, game players need to be sure to fill out their name and contact info. Last year, some folks played, but left us no way to contact them when they scored well. (PN will only use the contact info to inform winners in order to distribute prizes. Your info is safe with us.)

Scoring well on all 50 questions should be a breeze for regular readers. A few surprise bonus questions will provide additional competitive opportunities to boost your score, determined by a super-secret algorithm.

Play for fun and bragging rights. Prizes are the bonus.

Find the Naper 2017 Trivia at www.trivia.positivelynaperville.com from Fri., Jan. 13, through Wed., Jan. 25, 2017. Remember, the last person to play will be recognized with a prize, too.

FYI: The 2016 grand prize Naper Trivia winner was Kate Schultz.

Team up for monthly WSI Quiz Night & more

Q: What was news at WSI Irish Quiz Night in January 2017? A: The latest collectible WSI Irish scarf was introduced along with 2017 St. Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshall Nancy Quigley.

Meanwhile, if you enjoy team trivia, the WSI Quiz Night at Quigley’s Irish Pub begins at 7PM on the first Tuesday of most months. Next up, Feb. 7.

Also, ’tis the season when members of the West Suburban Irish are focused on their Emerald Dinner on Sat., Feb. 25; St. Patrick’s Parade on Sat., March 11, including sales of its collectible Irish-theme scarf, still $5 each; and Irish Mass on Tues., March 14.

Proceeds from their events benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation to help find cures for childhood cancers and other projects.

The West Suburban Irish also are now accepting applications for their 2017 St. Patrick’s Parade Queen and her Court. Applications are available online and due by Jan. 31, 2017.

Sláinte!

Editor’s Note / PN will attempt to legitimize players who compete in the 2017 Naper Trivia. When in doubt, we likely will omit their scores. That said, the first player will be recognized after Almeda Naper as the name of the wife of Joseph Naper was used to test the program. That test score did not get 100 percent correct.  Also, the quiz can be played numerous times during one entry to give players a chance increase their score. Players will know when the limit is reached. Thanks for playing. Cheers!
