Video Voice – Giving you a front row seat

-

As we get ready to wrap up another year, NCTV17 is looking forward to 2017 and our 30th anniversary. For three decades we’ve been giving Naperville residents a front row seat to the many wonderful things happening across our community.

If you tuned in this past year to Channel 17 you got to see Mayor Steve Chirico deliver his first State of the City address, find out who received a KidsMatter Youth Service Award, enjoy the sights and sounds of more than 25 musical performances including the Xilin Lantern Festival, Summer Place Theatre’s 50 Years of Musicals, the Naperville Municipal Band’s Music Under The Stars concert and dozens of local high school performances. NCTV17 also put you curbside at all of Naperville’s parades including the West Suburban Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the India Day Parade, and most recently the Little Friends Parade of Lights.

In addition to taking our viewers out to community events, we bring a wide range of community people, topics, and perspectives inside our studio; producing 15 regular TV series. Some examples include:

  • Every week, news anchor Alyssa Bochenek delivers the week in review on “Naperville News 17” updating residents on what’s happening across our city.
  • Sports anchor, Joe Olmo, shares scores, highlights, stories, and interviews with the athletes and coaches from all six local high schools on “Naperville Sports Weekly”.
  • Anderson’s Bookshop owner, Becky Anderson, hosts “Authors Revealed” and interviews visiting authors to learn about their most recent book and what inspires them.
  • “Spotlight” host, Jane Wernette, sits down with leaders of local nonprofit organizations to find out about the vital services they deliver to our community.
  • Host Liz Spencer offers local business owners an opportunity to talk about what makes their businesses unique on “Business Connection.”
  • President of the NACC, Nicki Anderson, leads a panel discussion on important business topics and trends on “Inside the Chamber.”
  • Kim White, E.D. of the Community Career Center and her monthly guests offer up critical career guidance on “Career Center.”

As 2016 draws to a close, NCTV17 is proud to be Naperville’s hyper-local, community TV station. It’s an honor and privilege to spend our days showcasing what makes our community such an amazing place to live, work, and play.

So tune in Naperville because our cameras are pointed at you!
