Naperville READS returns with celebrated children’s authors

-

Above / Community and Educators’ events will be held at The Wentz Concert Hall on Dec. 7.

naper_readsAnderson’s Bookshop in Naperville is delighted to be among the many sponsors of the annual citywide reading celebration, NapervilleREADS. This year’s theme, “United Through Story…What’s Yours?” focuses on the works of children’s authors spanning many subjects. Just as stories do, imagination can take readers many places, and non-fiction titles offer depth and knowledge. The backers of Naperville READS celebrate the fact that reading opens new worlds, and exposes ideas in our hearts and minds.

Community Event / 7PM Wed., Dec. 7

A public event for the community featuring all of the 2016 NapervilleREADS authors will be held on Wednesday, December 7 at 7PM at Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. on the campus of North Central College in Naperville. This event is free and open to the public.

A total of 14 authors and illustrators make up an incredible panel of talent for area young readers. In addition to the centerpiece program on Wednesday, December 7, children in local schools will get a chance to meet the authors as they traveled around Naperville between Tuesday, December 8 and Thursday, December 8. All first and second grade students in both Naperville School District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204 are taking part in these very special targeted events. An author and illustrator pair will visit each school.
