‘The W Man’ heads to Cleveland after recent debut at Wrigley Field

-

Above / As big Ws begin to dot the local landscape, Game Day USA, based in Naperville, will send “The W Man” to Cleveland after his eye-catching debut at Wrigley Field for NLCS Game 6.

Naperville sports management firm’s Innovation Lab gives rise to ambassador for positive family traditions involving sports and spokesperson for Chicago Cubs fans everywhere.

Could the The W Man have community connections in Naperville? Will he make it in Cleveland?

For a repeat appearance, Game Day USA will send “The W Man” to cheer on the Cubs as Chicago’s National League Team begins its first game of the 2016 World Series on October 25.

Attired in Cubs blue, The W Man is the spawn of the Naperville sports management firm’s Innovation Lab.

From Naperville to Cleveland fans might spot The W Man en route to the first game of the 112th World Series where the Cubs and the Indians will compete to end the longest combined championship drought — 174 years — in World Series history.

Creators of The W Man boast that “he guaranteed a shutout victory in Game 6 and a trip to the World Series against the Cleveland Indians, and the Chicago Cubs delivered.”

(Likely it’s as much to do with the Greatest Of All Teams… And so the story goes with well-wishing words whatever is written…)

‘The W Man’ on the move

This past weekend, The W Man took his whimsy and wit to numerous news stations and will continue to spread his message throughout the World Series via the news media and social media using #WMAN and #GAMEDAYUSA.

Decked out superhero-style, the mascot also made appearances at two Game Day USA tournament destinations while traveling to Cleveland:  South Bend, Indiana – home of the University of Notre Dame and Sandusky, Ohio – home of the brand new Sports Force Park near Cedar Point.

He plans to appear around Progressive Field in Cleveland in the afternoon for pre-game interviews and photo opportunities with Cubs fans – and maybe a few Indians fans also, his promoters said.

While The W Man aims to secure victory for the Chicago Cubs in the World Series, he touts enormous respect for the traditions of the Cleveland Indians and their loyal fans.

According the spokespeople for Game Day USA, The W Man is pleased the Cubs don’t have to face the likes of Ricky Vaughn, Pedro Cerrano, and Willie Mays Hayes.

“Ronny Woo Woo and The Bleacher Preacher deserve a great deal of credit for paying their dues and inspiring Cubs fans for all these years, but until The W Man came onto the scene, there was no World Series.  Enough said,” The W Man quipped.

The W Man offers batter & fielding relief availability

Upon news of the possible reactivation of Kyle Schwarber by the Chicago Cubs for the World Series, The W Man announced his availability to be added to the Chicago Cubs roster should Cubs manager Joe Maddon and President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein deem it necessary to bolster the Cubs roster for this historic series.  The W Man is skilled at playing every position on the field, and also is capable of playing two outfield positions at once, in the event that Joe Madden wishes to utilize a 5-man infield.

Cheers and smart talk with Game Day USA

Rich in sports trivia, The W Man appears to be a decent interview as the Cubs head to the World Series for the first time since 1945.

The W Man claims to be more than “rah-rah.”  Rich in knowledge about the game, W says he’s “much more intellectual than fans may think at first glance,” and that he’s wise on a wide variety of topics.

Promoters for The W Man say he is well-versed on curses, political correctness taken too far with sports mascots, drone safety, and the importance of the pinkie finger on one’s pitching hand.  The W Man also is available personal appearances and speaking engagements.

Meanwhile, fans should keep an eye out for The W Man prior to World Series games.
