Touted as a “children’s play for people of all ages,” Peter and the Starcatcher will be staged at 7PM Fri., Dec. 2; 11AM and 4PM Sat., Dec. 3; and 2PM Sun., Dec. 4.

What sets this play apart for NNHS is that it is completely student run: student chosen, student acted, student directed and student produced.

Every year senior students present proposals for the play of their choice to staff members who then weigh all the options and decide which proposal to go with. This year’s production was chosen for several reasons. Not only is this a classic tale that many parents have read with their own kids so it is well known, but student producers also proposed creating a lesson plan for teachers bringing their elementary and junior high classes to the day shows.

The musical production is a wonderful opportunity for students to work together to create a learning experience on so many levels.

Peter and the Starcatcher is the 5-time Tony Award winning musical play that answers the century-old question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Never Grew Up? This epic origin story of popular culture’s most enduring and beloved character proves that your imagination is the most captivating place in the world.

This production includes a troop of “25 brilliant actors” who play more than “100 unforgettable characters using their enormous talent, ingenious stagecraft and limitless possibilities of imagination.” From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair…and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students/seniors. Tickets can be purchase at the door or online at naperville203.tix.com.

Naperville North Theatre is located at Naperville North High School, 899 Mill Street.
