Teen’s Taste – Biscuits from the home oven

-

This month I am going to be sharing with you a recipe I made in my senior foods class, the “Almost Red Lobster Biscuit.”

This is a super simple recipe and you cannot tell the difference between the restaurant version and mine.

To begin you will need the following ingredients: 2 cups Bisquick, 2⁄3 cup milk (You can substitute low-fat milk.), 1⁄2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 6 tablespoons butter, 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1⁄4 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning.

The directions are as follows after you preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

Combine Bisquick with 4 Tablespoons butter using a pastry cutter or a large fork, add milk, and cheddar cheese. Next stir together and spoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Last, in a small sauce pan, combine 2 Tablespoons butter, garlic powder and Old Bay Seasoning. Heat until butter is melted, spoon butter mixture over hot biscuits and eat them up!

They are very delicious. I actually gave them to a few of my friends and their first response was, “Come on, Morrissey, you did not make them.”

The second response was “Go make some more!”

So if you are looking for a simple biscuit recipe that people will be raving about, try this one out.

And tell them Jack the foodie gave you vision! Until next month happy eating.
