Crime Prevention Calendar winners will be recognized September 29

Above / No stranger to the Crime Prevention Calendar, McGruff the Crime Dog supports the initiative sponsored by Exchange Club of Naperville, Naperville Junior Woman’s Club, Crime Stoppers and local schools.

Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico and Naperville Police Chief Robert W. Marshall will recognize students whose artwork appears on the 2016-2017 Crime Prevention Calendar in a ceremony taking place at 6:30PM on Thurs., Sept. 29 in Council Chambers at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

Students will receive special certificates

The students will be presented with a special certificate of appreciation by Mayor Chirico and Chief Marshall for their participation in the annual Crime Prevention Calendar contest.

Naperville Community Unit School District 203 winners include: Tabetha Black, Beebe; Avery Stein, Ellsworth;  Noah Rozek, Elmwood; Chloe Chen & Giola Chillemi, Highlands; Hope Perry, Kingsley; Andrew Lazovski, Maplebrook; Daniella Tatarin, Meadow Glens; Sennah Rashidian, Mill Street; Peyton Milligan, Naper; Emily Nixon, Prairie; Sarah Wang, Ranch View; Lily Chekytis, River Woods; Izabele Didzbalis, Scott; and Elizabeth Harper, Steeple Run.

Indian Prairie School District 204 winners include: Izzy Siemaszko, Brookdale; Morgan Cleveland, Brooks; Rishika Bathwal, Builta; Kanyanat Vajworarat, Clow; Elliah Chamberlain, Cowlishaw; Caroline Wyman, Fry; Jonathan Ramirez, Georgetown; Lauren Villaverde, Gombert; Olivia Russell, Graham; Megan Chen, Kendall; Victor Gonzalez, Longwood; Charles Farraras, McCarty; Ava Daruwala, Owen; Nalia Clifford, Patterson; Avery Kahl, Peterson; Avery Cook, Spring Brook; Anna Buchenauer, Steck; Aleksandra Baranovski, Watts; Lucy Kwon, Welch; Allison Balzer, White Eagle; and Katie Schuele, Young.

Private school winners include:  Charlotte Torres, All Saints Catholic Academy; Caitlin Hwang, Bethany Lutheran; Alia Grove and Jasmine Chan, Calvary Christian; Maggie Flavin, Saints Peter & Paul; and Chloe Coleman, St. Raphael.

Crime Prevention Calendar celebrates 30 years!

The Crime Prevention Calendar is a community service project involving Naperville area schools, local government, the Police Department and community organizations. This is the 30th year the Crime Prevention Calendar has been produced by the Naperville Police Department.

The project is sponsored by the Exchange Club of Naperville, Naperville Junior Woman’s Club, CrimeStoppers and area schools.

The calendars are distributed free of charge to elementary school students in District 203, District 204 and five area private schools, with 22,000 calendars being produced and delivered during the first week of classes this school year.

The 2016-2017 calendar cover features Naperville Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) Mike Rimdzius, SRO Ryan Martinez, SRO Russ Davis, SRO Brett Heun, SRO Nick Gartner, SRO Garrett Wrobel, SRO Ann Quigley, SRO Juan Leon, SRO Jennifer Johnsen, and Sgt. Tim Erdman.

Students pictured on this year’s cover include Madeleine Stack, Charlie Rippel, Ellie Rippel and Avery Bell.
