Public forum will look at both sides of township issues, consolidation tonight at City Hall

-

The Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation will explore issues around proposals for creating property tax savings from township services consolidation as it hosts the first in its series of 2016 Election Forums beginning at 7PM on Monday evening, September 19, 2016.

The forum will be held in the City Council Chambers of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle Street. The public is welcomed to attend.

The ballot in the upcoming election will feature two nonbinding questions regarding consolidation of township services. The forum is expected to explore the array of underlying issues, pro and con, that local officials and residents have been discussing publicly since March 2015.

The forum panel will feature Naperville City Councilmen Kevin Coyne and Naperville Township Supervisor Rachel Ossyra together with Lisle Township Supervisor Richard Tarulis and Gregory Higgins, an accountant active in supporting the Naperville Township Road District.

nahc-bannerForum Moderator Bob Fischer, current president of the NAHC, will outline the ballot questions and lead the panel through a discussion, both pro and con, on what these proposals might mean to Naperville neighborhoods and taxpayers.

Audience members at the Forum will be invited to submit their questions to the NAHC for panel consideration as well.

In addition to being available to a live audience in the Council Chambers, the forum will be broadcast live on the City of Naperville government access channel, WCNC (Channel 6 WOW, Channel 10 COMCAST, and Channel 99 AT&T).  The forum will be rebroadcast on NCTV Channel 17 on a scheduled to be determined and  available for streaming on the Internet.

Be prepared to answer nonbinding questions on Nov. 8, 2016
