Journey with Autism – Live in harmony with freedom for all

-

My good friend lives in one of the old neighborhoods of Chicago like a throwback to days of old when people lived in harmony with people of different backgrounds.

Can we begin to learn our lives may be enriched by the experiences of people of other life paths? The Italian immigrants brought us foods we prize as our favorites, and each ethnic group different from the group in the next neighborhood shared a once-foreign fully-unique custom that became intrinsic in our popular American ideology.

Living old school, flowing from block to block, it wasn’t always easy for people placed in a strange and scary new country. Guarding traditional ways made people from foreign lands feel safe. New or different looks and languages can make some people uncomfortable, and the only way to overcome this is to share joint time and to build a one relationship.

It is difficult to hate any group when you love one of its members.

This country is a land of immigrants. Unless you are native American, your ancestors didn’t have a lot of good claims to the status you now enjoy.

When you go to the fireworks this year, be reminded they represent the fight for religious and political freedom for those Patriots and all those who would land on these borders.
