Downtown Naperville Streetscape Project seeks public input

Above / From Chicago Avenue to Benton Avenue, Main Street is a happening place for shopping and dining in downtown Naperville.  Since 1959, Dean’s Fine Clothing for men and women has been part of the welcoming landscape at 226 S. Main Street. 

Public Open House is set 4-7PM Wednesday, July 13

UPDATE June 22, 2016 /  Considering the anticipated bad weather, the public open house scheduled for 4-7PM today, June 22, regarding the Downtown Streetscape project has been canceled.

P2C will host a rescheduled public open house from 4-7PM on Wed., July 13, to share information about existing conditions of the current downtown streetscape and an updated, proposed design plan to enhance the pedestrian environment and visual elements of the downtown area. The meeting will be held in Meeting Room B of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

Interested parties may also give feedback through a survey at www.p2cdesigns.com/survey. Online surveys must be submitted by Wed., July 20.

Please share this information with other interested parties that may have been planning on attending the June 22 meeting. The format for the presentation will remain the same. Thank you.

Public Open House planned to show design proposals

Walk this way along Main Street to curbside parking, to the Van Buren Parking Deck or to one of the surface lots along Van Buren. Parking is free for shoppers and diners in downtown Naperville.

 The City of Naperville’s Transportation, Engineering and Development (TED) Business Group and P2C Design, LLC, will host a public open house from 4-7PM on Wednesday, June 22, to share information about the ongoing Downtown Streetscape Project and seek perspective of area residents and businesses.

The meeting is open to the public and scheduled to be held in Meeting Room B of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

The City has contracted with P2C Design, LLC, for work on the Downtown Streetscape Project, which will gather inventory on the current streetscape conditions and develop a new standard that will enhance the downtown area.

Topics that will be discussed during the open house include an analysis of existing conditions of the current downtown streetscape and an updated, proposed streetscape design plan.

10-15-minute presentations 

Participants may come and go as they please during the open house to view plans and gain information during 10 to 15-minute presentations about project plans.

Attendees also will be invited to fill out a survey to provide input.

Interested parties unable to attend on June 22 are invited to take a survey at www.p2cdesigns.com/survey. (Click on the link to see a proposed streetscape design for a festival area on Jackson Avenue between Washington and Main.)

Online surveys must be submitted by June 29, 2016.
