One of the things that makes Naperville such a great place to live, work, and raise a family is the spirit of giving and service to others that contributes to the well-being and vibrancy of our community. With over 300 nonprofit organizations (including NCTV17) in the Naperville area, it’s no surprise that volunteerism is a cornerstone of our town’s values.
Through the powerful medium of television, NCTV17 is proud to help bring these groups and their important missions to the attention of the community. There are a variety of ways we do this at no cost to the nonprofit.
First is a complimentary appearance on our bi-weekly talk show, “Spotlight.” Over the years, this show has featured hundreds of local organizations. Some are committed to education, others to the arts, still others to providing much-needed social services throughout the community. Together with Presenting Sponsor, First Community Financial Bank, we offer each Naperville-based group the opportunity to appear on the show once a year to discuss their programs and services.
Second is the opportunity for coverage within one of our many news programming formats, such as “Naperville Now,” our 2-minute video featuring news and sports headlines delivered right to a subscriber’s inbox each weekday. “Naperville News 17,” our weekly half hour newscast which is available on Channel 17 and on-demand at NCTV17.com. “(630) Naperville,” our monthly news magazine show that dives a little deeper into each story. Lastly, we offer all Naperville-based nonprofits the opportunity to post information about upcoming events on our Community Message Board, which provides continuous exposure throughout the week in-between our regularly scheduled programming.
