Journey with Autism – Fear not and find joy on the bright side

-

There are light, łovely people in this world who illuminate experiences and teach us by how they glide through slamming crisis. They have the ability to see that in the very worst pain and the opposition before them is a battle they can win. They only label fighting problems in mainly positive language with lots of rolling moments which give even your worst nightmare a humorous twist.

Recently I listened to the person I most admire share her terrifying and pain filled experience. She had to look fear in the face and remain calm while many would become scared. Her example inspired me to let fear pass me by.

Losing loved ones can be life altering in ways people don’t fully comprehend. Even how I’m viewing a lifelong friend make his way through terminal illness has humbled me. He sat with a smile as he watched life time friends laughing and talking. He wanted them to know it was life’s little moments he most wanted to experience and he just wants to have fun.

Long after these inspiring people have moved from here to the next place on their journey, I will carry the memories of life lived without lingering self pity or pools of tears. I will draw strength by learning their life lessons to find the laughter and joy that is always right there if you choose it.
